^A short news clip; I LOVE the bit where Domi puts her medal round Kelli Hill. :(
That was beautiful. Domi is still our local hero. (and she has a couple of extra bronzes lying around eh?)

Ok so that made me :wuzrobbed What an amazing gesture from her. But WHY was this not done on Saturday prime time before the womens senior AA when there would be more than like 5 people in the arena?? They deserve the extra attention this would bring.

Even though it may not be live, I'm sure there will be something about it on NBC. :)

ETA: oops, you are right, it will still be too bad for them that the arena was empty. But it will get some attention anyway I'm sure. :D

I heard that Jordan Wieber maybe injured because she fell twice from the BB, does anyone have any news on how she is doing?

At the end of the Sr. Ladies Day 1 competition the announcers stated that Universal Sports TV will be showing Gymnastics Worlds in Oct. on Same-day delay.

Universalsports.com will have live coverage of Worlds, but not for free. The subscription cost until the end of August will be $9.99 according to the announcers. No idea how much the cost will rise after August.

(I have a feeling if we get any live GP coverage this season on US it will cost :bribe:)

^^I've got to figure out a way to get that channel up and running on my TV. I only got my new flat-screen last year when the picture tube in my ancient RCA bit the dust, so I don't think I need the "box" to get it.

Are there any more newsclips out there about the medal ceremony?

That is REALLY disappointing about charging for Worlds coverage. I love how they have so much stuff streaming live for free. I would consider paying a small amount for my favorite sports (gymnastics and figure skating) but you know the videos will be all over youtube in a matter of days, if not hours! Oh well, it seems everything comes to this in the internet world. Give it out for free, get people attached and then sock it to 'em!

I understand that we can't get this coverage for free all the time. But if I'm paying $10, and they miss something historic like Zam's CHENG, as they did last night, they are going to hear about it!

like coco, I don't mind the fee. But if you are going to charge, my demands (like the Zam's vault!!) are much higher. I don't want the same quality as when it was free.

I thought that was great!
I agree that the medal awarding should have been publicized more/done at a time when it could have been seen by the national audience.
I wonder why it wasn't?

They did the medal award the first night, but they acknowledged the team again the second night as well (the ladies day 1) when there was a very good sized crowd in the arena.

I might have missed it, but I caught most of last night's coverage on NBC and didn't hear this mentioned at all. :(

I am glad that that they recognized the 1980 U.S. Olympic team and that I got to see some old familiar faces, especially my girl, Tracee!

I missed the entire coverage and Universal Sports wouldn't work when I tried. It's really sad if they didn't mention it at all! :(
