Humphrey's messed up something in her preliminary routine on floor IIRC.

Everyone loved Terin's dance and she was a good tumbler. But she couldn't do the $h!t jumps to save her life. That is why she seemed good on floor but wasn't as good as people said according to the final score.

I should rewatch, but going by memory here, she went OOB and maybe stumbled on one of her passes (maybe same pass as the one where she went OOB). However, I don't think her mistake was as bad as Kupets' mistake in TF which not only included a stumble for a missed element and connection that made her SV decrease by a few tenths.

BTW, Humphrey's FX and Beam out of all the routines from the Americans that year, IMO, are the most rewatchable. I don't know much about gym technique and the Code at the time, but Terin presented her routines so well and great difficulty that it always seemed like she was underscored. I hate shit jumps.

Exactly. She was good on FX by 1980's standards, but couldn't get a decent SV despite fantastic tumbling and graceful dancing.

More Bridget Sloan news:

Injured Bridget Sloan limited to beam (http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/gymnastics/news/story?id=5452526)

Looks like a new shoulder/chest injury on top of her ankle injury.

It's pretty much Bross's to lose now is it not?

Well yes, but I fear she's doing AA too soon, so that USAG can have one of their "chosen ones" win the AA. She's not the most consistent kid in the world, and I hope she's not biting off more than she can chew.

But yes, it's her's to lose!
