Sacramone only did the FTY. I think she was making a point that she is serious and wants to not only help the team but win medals/titles on vault. So she did two vaults when it was absolutely not required at this competition. She did an easy 2nd vault but she still got her point across with an amazing Rudi and the 2nd vault could so very easily be a double, she just didn't want to risk anything at this point on something that isn't necessary.

Larson looks like she will break at any second. She tends to chuck skills randomly, which is not her typical style so I think it is a mental issue. I noticed she did it on beam (throwing her head back on her back tuck, which you learn not to do as a 7 yr old and again on the dismount, not even setting) and again at the end of her floor routine. Hopefully she can work on this but this is probably a big reason she is often injured.

Could Alicia help Raisman with her hair? :shuffle: Bross cut her hair shorter, thank goodness! Ok, enough of my superficial rants!

I didn't like much of what I saw, I miss good clean gymnastics and these girls make you realize how clean someone like Johnson actually was despite being in Liukin's shadow when it came to form. My boyfriend kept saying "that wasn't pretty" and after the 5th time he was wondering what the problem was. I told him that this is gymnastics in 2010, unfortunately.

Johnson had cleaner form than Liukin if you're referreing to execution of the elements.

I thought I saw Liukin (http://i32.tinypic.com/2znqogx.jpg) sitting next to Brady Quinn, but she just tweeted "wish I could have been there".

I was out of town this weekend, but I'm SO happy to hear that Sacramone looked so solid!! :cheer: And I'm glad Larson has come back strong! Sad for Sami Shapiro tho...I hope her injury isn't too serious! :(

I thought it looked like Carly Patterson with bleached out hair.

My random thoughts from watching the on demand coverage from the CoverGirl Classic:

--Thank God for Alicia Sacramone. Seriously. I'm so glad she's back! She brings such a wonderful confidence and maturity to the U.S. team, and she appeared to be in fabulous shape already. It's early, but I'm guessing we'll see her on the World team this year, especially with Kayla Williams out with injury (even though I think she could defeat a healthy Williams anyway).

--When is Mackenzie Caquatto going to get it together? Her bars are fricken gorgeous and a huge asset to the U.S. team, but she needs to get her head together!

--Kytra Hunter's tumbling is awesome, but she keeps getting dinged on the leaps and dance elements, incurring a lot of deductions. I'm not sure if she's on the World team yet...she really needs to clean up her FX and start scoring in the 15s to have a shot, IMO.

--Did Cassie Whitcomb do a piked ricna on UB? Her routine was awesome, but like Williams, Hunter and Jetter, I think she may get lost in the shuffle and passed over for a World team spot.

--Mattie Larson looked way good for having been away from competition for so long. The fall on her BB dismount was flukey. With Hong out injured, Sloan not up to form, and Bross' headcase issues, could Larson be the surprise National AA champ this year? With a few weeks more training, I think it's very possible.

--Back to Caquatto...does she even like competing anymore? She seemed so sour the whole meet. It makes me wonder if she'll decide to head to college in the fall and say **** it with elite gymnastics.

--Jordyn Wieber is the best gymnast in the United States, without a doubt.

--Where the hell did Ohashi come from! Has she EVER scored that high? I don't think she's even come close to it... 59.100 for the Junior AA is huge! :respec:

--Bross looked more tiffed here, so a few extra points for her.:glamor:

--Raisman looked out of it the whole meet. That Amanar attempt was...scary...to say the least. I don't think she got enough block off the vaulting table. I still think she'll get it back together...she would be a valuable asset to have on the World team because she can contribute nicely on VT, BB and FX.

--A.Sac's vaults were HUGE!! Wow!

--Van Zam's FX routine was way cool, too. :)

I don't see it happening this season. I hope she proves me wrong but..:(

I love her, one hot prospect for London :watch:

Meh, she always looks like Night of the Living Dead to me. I love her gymnastics though :shuffle:

So do I. I love her aggressiveness, esp. on bars. Sure, she could clean up her form a little, but the Olympics are still two years away. Valeri is pacing her correctly. I wonder what kinds of upgrades we'll be seeing from her. I think there's a lot she could be doing on floor.

I was reading at GGMB that they all thought both Priessman and Maroney had better Amanars than Wieber. It just wasn't scored that way.

No doubt the US is the best vaulting country right now. It's too bad we have to suck on bars though. What the hell happened in the past quad and a half? During the 00-04 quad, we had a surplus of good bar workers. Now, it's a struggle to find someone with a decent D score. Because I'm a bitch I wanna blame Marta and her Romanianness. :D

VT and UB need to be brought back in line with the other 2 events scorewise.

So assuming everyone goes uninjured...which is a very big IF....I'm thinking the team for worlds (do 6 go this year?) would be Larson, Sloan, Sacramone, Kytra Hunter, Kayla Williams if recovered, and Bross. Maybe Jetter could sneak on there, but I dunno. MLT seems like a curse, so I'm kinda worried for Williams and Jetter....

Is this worlds EF/AA or team? If it's team, is there really room for Sacramone and Williams on the same team? At this point I think Alicia gets the nod based on her gymnastics AND leadership capabilities.

The World Champion last year didn't even score a 15 so I'm not sure it's realistic to say Hunter has to score 15's to be in the mix for Worlds. Unless you're talking about with the US overscore which based on some calculations at GGMB seemed to be ~.3 across the board (except for Macko )

I think Hunter needs to be scoring around 15, at least at competition on US soil. How is her D score the same as Larson's? Is she losing that many points in her leaps that she isn't even getting credit for some of them?

This is a team world championships and A Sac would definitely get benefit of being good on Vault and Beam.

Well, overscorring was higher than that compared europeans.

Has to be. There's really no other explanation.
