Hope he gets better soon. I love Keatings. He is one of my faves. :(

Daniel Keatings has torn his ACL:

What a shame. He is one of my favorite male gymnasts competing today, and I so hope he can come back strong next year.

That's so sad.... I'm now wondering how this will affect qualifications for the Olympics.... I really hope GB manage to qualify a full team without him, it would be tragic if they didn't.

Lovely interview with Hollie Vise here (http://www.insidegymnastics.com/content/show/newsarticle.aspx?articleid=818&zoneid=1) - she was one of my favorites in 2003/2004 and I remember being so disappointed that she didn't make the '04 team.

The Pacific Rim Championships is being aired on NBC right now, for anyone interested. It began at 12:30 and ends at 2:00 central time. So there is still another 50 minutes to go.

Bross' bowed legs really really irritate me on bars, although I know she can't help it. However, she can finish her pirhouettes in handstand better than anyone else. I wish she would cut her hair a little and put on just a little make up. :shuffle:

They showed Slater and Zamo on the sidelines, I guess as judges and/or officials. Zamo looked great! Slater, well, let's just say it was obvious she was no longer in peak physical shape. hehe

I dont like Bross's gymnastics to be honest. Then again I am not a big fan of Sloan either. It is one reason I am happy Shawn is coming back.

Bross literally WALKS into her double arabian dismount on beam, unreal! I'm just not really a fan, either. I prefer Sloan to Bross but I prefer Nastia and Shawn to both.

Bross has the anti-charisma. Her gymnastics = Ambien. Her floor is lacking in any personality whatsoever. I prefer Sloan, but I preferred Nastia to any of them.

I really hope Mustafina wins the AA at Worlds.

Has anyone noticed that it's Terry Gannon as the announcer? Apparently he didn't just do Universal for the Olympics. He has officially joined NBC. I would be very happy to have him as the announcer for the London Olympics gymnastics competition.

Now if we can just get NBC to put him on figure skating.

That Australian gymnast looked horrified on beam. She did well, though. She spent half her routine setting up one element, I figured it was something huge and it turned out to be a front aerial. LOL! Her dismount set up took a while as well and she hunched way forward while setting it up, very odd...they should fix those things. She was way over on time...

I love how they are all "huge margin of victory! blahblah" but it's not like China sent their A team.

Anyway, Marta needs to invest in dance classes for all these girls.

Is it just me or did the scores seem a bit inflated compared to Europeans?

I'm not so sure it's inflation here as much as the scoring at Europeans has just been really tight and on the low side the last two years. I honestly thought there was a little bit of underscoring going on at Euros. For the level of Pacific Rim, the scores seemed fairly reasonable to me.

ARGH!! I missed it! I didn't know NBC was airing the Pac Rim competition today. Darn it! :wall:

Love the interview with Hollie though! I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to go on in gymnastics after not making the Olympic team. I remember seeing that live selection show and feeling my own heart break for her. :( She's pretty tough though and I'm glad she managed to get back to the gym and compete again. I look forward to reading the rest of the interview on Monday. Hollie's always been one of my faves and I'm really glad she ended up having a great college career. :)

I doubt Great Britain is at risk, as the top 24 teams from Rotterdam advance to next year's World Championships.
