Well at least my dad is happy for now. I can't believe Montreal won that series! I guess I'll be cheering for them now!

In Carolina, it's "Staal good" x 2 now :psoty: :psoty:

They signed him to a 3-year deal today(like there was any question that would happen despite the team playing it down as a done deal). Now if we could just get Jordan and Marc, that would be some nice eye candy for us! :D

Well so much for my prediction for a Det/Pitts final!!

The East has just been crazy. Maybe Philly will defeat Boston tonight to just add to the craziness of it all.

I'm starting to think the Canadians are destined to make the finals this year.

San Jose/Chicago will be a good finalist for hockey. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Sharks have never made the finals and Chicago last won a Cup back in what, 61? Was that the last time the Black Hawks were in the finals or have they lost a final since then?

This must be big news in Canada:

Graham James found in Mexico
Ex-hockey coach and sex offender left Canada for Guadalajara

Yeah, there were feature reports about this earlier in the week on all of the news reports up here. Slimeball times 100 000!!!

Not sure who's going to win it tonight, but it's going to be fun.

I hope.

Oh and earlier this afternoon...I'm checking the SuperStations to see if there's an afternoon baseball game on for my Dad. I find one on WGN and he asks who's playing. I reply w/....

Oh it's the Pittsburgh Pengui...Ooops!! (I LOL) Yeah...It's the Pittsburgh Penguins playing the Chicago Blackhawks.

Gee...Wonder where my brain is at right now?

Correct on both counts. And the Hawks have been in the finals a couple of times since then.

Bettman can't be pleased that both Ovie and Sid are out of the playoffs already. A Hawks/Bruins matchup would be decent for ratings however.

Flyers over Boston 4-3 in the 7th, after being behind 3-0 in the first period.

And the Bruins lose it thanks in part to yet another too many men on the ice call.

Unbelievable!!

Flyers vs Habs Sunday!!! GO HABS GO!!! :D

I had a ticket for game 5 of the 1992 finals, but Pittsburgh beat Chicago in 4. This year, definitely the best the Hawks have done since moving to the United Center.

Geez, Leighton is the only North American goalie left, I believe  . And what if he gets injured? Does Philly even have a backup at this point?

Rest up for Sunday, everyone! :watch:

Great day for the Flyers. It says a lot about their character to come back from 3 games down and 3 goals down in game 7.

BTW, for the record, the Blackhawks have been in four Stanley Cup finals since they last won in 1961. They lost in 1965, 1971, 1973 and 1992. They came closest in 1971, losing in game 7 to the Habs.

Disappointed the Canucks are out but the Habs are still in, Go Habs!
I like Philly more than Boston but I had been cheering boston because I have them in my hockey pool haha, I guess either way I won that way :p Congrats Philly

Oh man...W/the exception of the first game of the Sharks/Hawks series, the Conference Finals have been pretty one sided. Can the Habs get past Philly hot goalie? If they can't, then midnight will strike for their Cinderella run. :(

In other hockey news...Can anyone stop the Windsor Spitfires second straight Memorial Cup win on Sunday? They've been dominating in Brandon and have qualified for the Final. Oh and if after the performance he's been putting on so far, if Edmonton doesnt' make Taylor Hall their First Round pick, they're nuts!!

Speaking of the Final, for the first time in the History of the Memorial Cup, the Final will be played/broadcast in Prime Time!! It's about time too!!

There's been a new tradition started at the Memorial Cup. For the third straight year, the Host Team has worn a special Jersey to honour our Veterans, which is the reason why the Memorial Cup exists. It was created to remember those who did not come home from the First World War. These jerseys are now up for auction for the Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund that helps Canada's Veterans and their families. The Brandon Wheat Kings wore their jerseys last Friday night and I *love* the design.

Then again, that's what I think. What do all of you think?

CHL.com ~ Wheat Kings to Wear Commemorative Jerseys for Auction (http://mastercardmemorialcup.com/news.php?id=1475&y=2010)

The auction closes tonight and I really hope the final amount is beyond huge.

Habs fan that I am, I feel kinda "nice" towards Leighton as I actually got to watch him play Jr B hockey. He played for the Petrolia Jets which has always been one of our biggest rivals. Great to see him playing so well ... unfortunately it's against the wrong team :(

Well Gang, I do believe we have a series!!

What a great game that was. Had a bit of everything. Great goals, awesome saves and a bit of a brawl to boot. Literally. ;)

WTG Habs!! Now keep it up on Saturday afternoon.

Here's hoping the Sharks make things interesting in Chi-town tomorrow night too.

It seemed I missed a great game in Habsland last night. Was attending a ceremony where dd received an scholarship/award toward her schooling in the fall -she's heading out to the east coast to Halifax.

I got to see all of ONE goal last night - Montreal's 5th. Imagine my surprise that I came home to a 4-0 lead by my team. OK guys, let's make Deb a happy camper on Saturday, please!
