View Full Version : NFL Offseason: Big Money, Big Draft, & Big Ben Follies
Nah, I think McNabb is a good move right now. If we had a halfway decent line, I wouldn't feel that way. But we can't draft some talented kid QB and then let him get so beaten up that he has 5 concussions in 2 years. Until we build a line, we need a veteran who can run, protect himself, and get rid of the ball. And help mentor whoever we get in 1-2 years. Campbell is not that guy. I'd prefer Favre or Warner, but McNabb is what we got. Just hope he doesn't get injured right away.

You make excellent points here. Actually, McNabb < Favre in that Favre would not be interested in mentoring a successor. I do feel a little bit bad for Campbell, though, he just never stood a chance with that o-line.

You are probably right about that. Just hoping we pick one of those OTs and get something for Haynesworth if he doesn't want to play.

Sorry, how does that make McNabb less than Favre?

:watch: Tom Brady contract :drama: (sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/ross_tucker/06/09/brady/index.html)
As much as I enjoy watching Belichick squirm (and fail :P), ITA with Ross Tucker, here ... proclaim your intentions to give Brady the moon, NOW, Pats, and get it done before Peyton's gazillion dollar contract is in place.
Doesn't it make more sense to give him a contract now? Colts owner Jim Irsay has already gone on record as saying he is willing to give Peyton Manning a contract that makes him the highest paid player in league history. Not surprising, as Manning has certainly earned it.
If I am the Patriots, I would be doing my darndest to get Brady signed to a deal before Manning inks his mega-package. Why allow Brady's representation to work off Manning's contract? Wouldn't they rather make Brady the highest paid player in league history right now by working off the pact Eli Manning recently signed with the New York Giants?
Belichick has a lot on his plate and doesn't appear to have anyone there to check him on why he is doing some of the things he does. If he did, maybe that person would ask him why he is ticking off the guy that made Belichick what he is in the first place.

Dear Bill Romanowski:
Please, for the love of God, stop defending me (backporch.fanhouse.com/2010/04/29/bill-romanowski-thinks-big-ben-deserves-a-3rd-4th-and-5th-chance?icid=sphere_newsaol_inpage_fanhouse2).

I know that back in my pre-marital days, different situations that I have been in with women that, in the heat of the moment, there's probably some women that would say that the didn't want to have it, but sure enough they did. This is a really touchy subject. I feel very strongly. I have never posed my will on a female in a way that hopefully was less than classy.

Things like that just make me think about giving up on the NFL all together.
