Can't wait for the Saints/Vikings game next Sunday.

The Dome is going to be NUTS!!!!

Would love to see the Jets pull off the big upset over the Chargers this afternoon.

Viking/Saints should be a great matchup. I give the edge to the Saints since they will be at home but if the Vikings play like they did today then it will be really tough for the Saints to score. I hope the Saints defense studies this game and studies it well.

I also don't understand the problem people have with the Vikings tacking on another score at the end. Why the heck not? The clock was still running. If the Cowboys don't want them to run up the score then STOP THEM.

Hear, hear. I am thrilled that all my favorites teams thus far have moved on. I hope the Chargers do too, but I am not adverse to Mark Sanchez and the Jets.

BEEFY THE GREEK'S CRYSTAL BALL SEZ:

Indy over Balty CHECK:kickass:

NY over SD (yes, that's what I said) CHECK :kickass:

Zona over Nawlins OOPS

Minny over Dallas CHECK :kickass:

Count 'em! :puppet:

Nope, Matryeshka, no reason to return this crystal ball. Just need to remind self to keep eyes on it ... versus glancing to the TV screen and being entranced by :psoty: Warner's mug.

It's going to be Vikes at Saints next weekend. I will root for the Saints because I cannot stand Brett Favre. He bailed out on his team (Packers) and his other team (Jets), practically shopping for a team to go back to the SB, using fake announcements about retiring. I have no respect for him as a person.

Me too. I'm cheering for the Saints anyway over the Vikings (although the Colts overall-I'm torn though because I'm starting to take a liking to Mark Sanchez and the Jets), but I detest Brett Favre. "I can play football next year, but I don't want to :sniff:"

So the Jets win! Big upset. I never thought it was going to happen.

Kudos to you Beefcake. You went 3-1 on your picks. Not bad at all and better then my 2-2.

I'm seeing a NO/Indy Super Bowl.

Norv Turner can never win a big game.

The home-field advantage is still important, but it'll be mitigated a bit by Brett Farvre also being kind of a local boy (from Kiln, Mississippi, and MS along with AL are part of the Who Dat Nation) so he'll have some home-crowd fans there. He also has familial/business connections in New Orleans throughout Louisiana.

So there will be a lot of purple-wearing in the dome this week-end. On the New Orleans local news, they did a story on a bar that's going to put a fence down the middle of the bar to separate Brett Farvre and Saints fan. (And yes, the Brett Farvre not Vikings wording was quite deliberate. Cause no one roots against the Saints, but rooting for a local boy is perfectly acceptable.)

That was HUGE! I never thought the Jets had a chance against the Chargers, esp. in SD. I thought the Chargers had the potential to beat the Colts in Indy. Now we will have to see if the Jets can pull off the big upset. Ironically, if not for the Colts stupid decision to sit their starters against the Jets, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs. If the Colts lose this one, they will have to blame no one but themselves.

I am hoping for a Colts win next week and in the superbowl, regardless of which NFC team they play against. I like Peyton Manning and the Colts team, though I don't think they are as good as the two NFC teams. So it will be an upet if the Colts win the SB.

I like neither of the NFC teams, but I particularly dislike Favre, so I will be grudgingly rooting for the Saints next week.

Hmmm, NY's playoff existence certainly seems due to the Colts and Bengals playing their B teams against the Jets. But, who knows what "not" puling those starters might have led to. Might Peyton have gone down with a Welkeresque injury if he'd played that 2nd half against the Jets? As it is, we have two teams who certainly deserve to be where they are, playing for a Super Bowl appearance.

The intrigue, IMO, won't last past the third quarter of Colts/Jets, Sunday. Absent a +2 turnover advantage for the Jets, my math and I just cannot see a NY victory. Some media types are droning on about the Jets' defense. Well, the Colts weren't having much trouble with it four weeks ago, scoring 15 points through just over a half a game, and justmissing a couple more scores.

Meanwhile, the Jets offense was barely moving the ball against the Indy defense, scoring just 3 points. (The other 7, pre-mass-Colts-exit points for the Jets was on a kickoff run-back.) And the Colts were missing a gaggle of defensive players to BEGIN that game, most of which are back in action.

The Jets with its strong defense and running game but challenged passing game and odd mistakes, are very much like Baltimore. Should be a similar game to the Indy-Ravens, and similar outcome IMO. Unless the emulate the Chargers and beat themselves, they should cruise. Conservatively, I'll predict: Colts by 10 ... lead closing with a late, garbage-time score by NY.

I am hoping for a Colts win next week and in the superbowl, regardless of which NFC team they play against.
I refuse to think about the Super Bowl! And I hope that the Colts aren't doing it either ... it seemed like the Chargers made this mistake, and look what happened there.

Now that Norv has blown it, I will be rooting for the Saints aka a Gregg Williams "in your face Dan Snyder" Super Bowl win. But the old guy is good too - I have no animosity toward Favre. Go NFC!

I don't really care on the AFC side, but I'd prefer the Jets because I have a rabid Colts fan coming over for the SB.

Brett Favre is very close to the record for most touchdowns thrown in the postseason (currently held by Joe Montana) so I was ok with it. Nothing wrong with wanting to break a record.

That makes even more sense, the commentators left that one out while doing their bickering.
