Oh Bengals.....:(:wuzrobbed Nothing else I can say about that.
Actually every team I was rooting for this weekend lost! :P At least the Cards-Packers game was entertaining- I don't mind the Cardinals winning but was hoping the Pack would pull it out after that comeback. Felt bad for Aaron Rodgers at the end there. He had played such a fantastic game.
I'm a Packers fan and this loss stung. It was pretty devastating.:wuzrobbed:wuzrobbed Not the mention the refs missed the helmet-to-helmet contact by Berry on Rodgers, plus the the facemask on Rodgers on the final play.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/15/berry-fined-for-hit-on-rodgers/
If it had been Brady, Favre, Manning, Brees, those calls would have been made. The Packers should have won though despite those calls. We have a better defense than what was shown on Sunday. I'm not rooting for the Vikings and Favre.:blah: I think and HOPE the Cowboys will beat them.
Even though the Cardinals beat the Packers, I'm rooting for them. It is easy to root for Kurt Warner.
My picks this weekend: Cardinals, Cowboys, Colts, Chargers

The officiating was not the best, but the bad calls went both ways. There was a helmet to helmet hit on Warner also that was missed by the refs. There were a couple of phantom pass interference penalties on the Cards.
The NFL has fined all the players whose infractions (only the illegal hits; not the PI penalties) were missed by the refs, and it has players from both teams on the list. That news came out today. Here is the link. I don't know if you can access it, but the original comment in the article states that 2 Cardinals players and 2 Packers players were fined for unnecessary roughness.

Regarding all the complaining by Packers fans about the last face mask, it was incidental contact. Mike Adams (the player who caused Rodgers to fumble) did not grab or twist Rodgers' face mask. The rule about facemasks was changed in 2008 to allow incidental contact (earlier rule used to give 5 yards penalty). That's why there was no face mask penalty on that play. The NFL published a statement to that effect day after the game. It seems many Packer fans are not aware of the new rule, or they don't want to believe it. I was not aware of it either (and I am a Cardinals fan) but the NFL statement was very clear.
Missed calls are a part of the game, and over the course of the game they usually even out.
What really hurt the Packers was turning the ball over on their first two possessions of the game. For the game they had 3 turnovers vs. Cardinals one. That was the difference in the game. They could not stop Arizona's offense either.
Thanks for picking the Cardinals and Cowboys though. I don't really believe the Cards are going to beat the Saints, and I think Cowboys will lose to the Vikings (much to my disappointment, because I don't want Favre anywhere near the Superbowl. His retire/unretire drama was just too much for me, and I did not like his attitude toward the Packers organization).
ETA the link.

Thousand depressions over Cardinals's blowout loss in New Orleans. Too many injuries, not enough time to prepare, and no defense at all. I hope they will fire the defensive coordinator. It's inexcusable to give away 90 points in just two games.
That leaves me with Cowboys vs. Vikings. Go Cowboys!
However, I had already posted that all 4 home teams will win this weekend, and Indy seems to be on its way to winning their game. I think the Vikes will beat the Cowboys.

If I had my dream matchup, the NFC title game will be between the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.
You're kind of hating life today, aren't you?

Yesterday was a bad day. C/O didn't make the Olys and the Ravens stunk up the joint in Indy. :(
I hope Evan comes from behind and wins today and salvages my sports weekend.

My life does not depend on who wins football games.

So far so good this week! If the Vikings can hold on for the win and if the Jets can win (never thought I'd be saying that  ), I'll be very happy.

It's going to be Vikes at Saints next weekend. I will root for the Saints because I cannot stand Brett Favre. He bailed out on his team (Packers) and his other team (Jets), practically shopping for a team to go back to the SB, using fake announcements about retiring. I have no respect for him as a person.
