Oh Bengals.....:(:wuzrobbed Nothing else I can say about that.
Actually every team I was rooting for this weekend lost! :P At least the Cards-Packers game was entertaining- I don't mind the Cardinals winning but was hoping the Pack would pull it out after that comeback. Felt bad for Aaron Rodgers at the end there. He had played such a fantastic game.
Go Ravens, Go Ravens! Wheee that was so exciting!
Actually, I am kinda rooting for what I call the "Danny Bowl" - coaches Dan Snyder has fired playing against each other in the Super Bowl, with Dan watching at home. So Chargers (head coach Norv Turner) vs. Saints (Def. Coord. Gregg Williams).

I think somehow all of the Redskins' problems for the past 10 years are karma for Snyder firing Norv Turner (when they were still in playoff contention that season!) because Turner wouldn't start Jeff George at QB over Brad Johnson.
Of course Brad Johnson went on to win a Super Bowl for Tampa, and Jeff George sucked as much as he always had.

I went to the playoff game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers. It was a blast, with the Cardinals winning in OT, on a great defensive play.
Final score: AZ 51, GB 45.
Total points scored: 96- the most ever in a playoff game.
Total yards offense: more than 1000
Kurt Warner had more touchdowns (5) than incomplete passes (4). He attempted 33 passes total. His QB rating is second to only Bart Starr.
Next round: Saints in New Orleans. That will be a tough game (Saturday).
My other team (Dallas Cowboys) also won, over Philadelphia. It was a very good NFL wildcard weekend.

HeatherC, good news for you! Mike Zimmer signed a new contract with the Bengals yesterday.
Redskins have hired Jim Haslett (former Saints head coach) as defensive coordinator.

Warner sooo deserve the Hall of Fame. He's great and a total class act. :)

Beefcake, I hope you are wrong about New Orleans. I would not be surprised if they lose but I have no idea how the team is feeling going into the game. They could have everyone out with injuries or everyone back in healthy for all I know. If they have enough healthy players then I don't see them losing by 13.

Beefcake, I'll take 3 of your 4 bets.
I like SD, Dallas, and NO.
Arizona won a big road game last year at Carolina that allowed them to host the NFC championship game. I don't see the same thing happening this year. They will lose to NO (and yes I realize that AZ has no chance to host this year).
As for your Jets pick.....sorry but I don't see a rookie QB in the AFC championship game.
I despise both the Dallas Cowboys and Brett Favre so I'll be happy with whoever loses.

My dil is (was) a green bay fan and was pretty disgusted when Brett came back and came back. She was "Aaron waited for his time...." Except both she and I have been quite impressed with the old guy.
I want to see Brett and Adrian Petersen go to the Super Bowl and so does she. She just hasn't let her dad know - the die hard Pack fan that he is. :P

I think all the home teams are going to win this weekend, though I am hoping for an upset in New Orleans, hoping for an Arizona win.

If I had my dream matchup, the NFC title game will be between the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.

The only time I ever watch football is when my boyfriend makes me :P like your DIL, he is a huge Packers and Favre fan (also from NE, like you) and he feels the same as she does. I for one, LOVE Adrian Peterson. :cheer: I'm not a football person, but when he plays I am like this ---->
