I was at work throughout the whole game and I kept getting updates every few minutes. Dude, I can't imagine what it was like to actually WATCH the game.

ETA: I was talking about the Saints.

WHO DEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: It's been a great sports weekend for Cincy! Redsfest was going on downtown this weekend, the Bearcats clinched the Big East title and are getting a trip to the Sugar Bowl for their BCS game, and the Bengals just keep rolling right along adding wins to their record and are now 9-3 with a solid lead in their division. No one wake me up....I want to live in this world forever, LOL  :cheer2:

The Saints do it again. INCREDIBLE!! 12-0!
The Saints didn't do it. :P The bumbling Redskins did!

Gift-wrapped it, put a cherry on top, and presented it all to Brees & Co with a butterfly kiss.

the Bengals just keep rolling right along adding wins to their record and are now 9-3 with a solid lead in their division. And the Steelers lost yesterday, so if the Ravens win tonight (yes, I know that's highly unlikely, lol), they go a game ahead for the last WC spot (and tie w/ Jacksonville)!

Oh whatever. :P The Saints laid it all out for the Redskins to take it and even with their "on" game (and the Saints not having the right kind of shoes for the frozen grass) the Saints still win. I'm sort of glad that the Saints almost lost, that gives Sean Payton the chance to act like they lost and chew them out.

By the way, I really REALLY hate the OT rules for NFL. How stupid that the first team to score wins. It basically comes down to who can win the coin toss! They said the team winning the coin toss wins the game more than 60% of the time. It isn't as high as I thought it would be but it shows how much a team is favored if they do win the toss. It should be done more like college with each team getting a possession until one team outscores the other.

^ This year, IIRC, the Saints/Redskins announcers said that it 4 of 9 coin-toss winners in OT games this season had won the game. So now it's 4 of 10 for the year.

Anyway, I agree that each team should get one possession. If anyone's ahead after those, then that team wins. If not, then they just play as usual until the next score.

As much as the college system is fair, I disllike how OT sessions artificially pump up the offensive numbers, turning a good defensive performance into crap, and giving teams (and RBs and QBs) who luck into 2 or 3 OT games unearned stats.

I think I have officially given up on the Ravens. Yes, they were overmatched last night going in, but with the amount of penalties and other dumb mistakes that the Packers racked up, the Ravens should have won, except they made just as many dumb mistakes. I like Joe Flacco, but he is in a definite sophomore slump. I'll just look forward to next season now.... :(

Interesting! Strength of Schedule as of today shows Cincinnati with the easiest schedule in the NFL, and most of the other "sparkling records" teams in among the so-called easier schedule bunch. Pittsburgh with the 7th easiest ... how the heck are they only 6-6? Meanwhile, Miami is doing okay - almost made up the hole it was in after ~4 games - with a much tougher schedule than 2008.

By rule, teams with the best records will give teams they've played better SOS (see: New England, Tennessee, Houston!), thus lessening their own. It's understandable that many of the challengers are on the "easy" end. But it doesn't explain Indy.

In the end, good teams win the games in front of them, so SOS is just another item to :argue: and :watch:

NFL SOS through 12/7/09 (toughest to easiest ... ranked cumulative opponent winning percentage):

1. New England
2. Tennessee
3. Houston
5. Tampa
5. Baltimore
6. Miami
7. Indy
8. Washington
9. NY Giants
15. Philly
19. Dallas

It makes up for the fact that we had one of the toughest schedules last year IIRC. At this time last season the Bengals were 1-11-1 so they've definitely made a HUGE turnaround this year. And for the record, there's nothing easy about having to beat the Ravens and Steelers TWICE every season.

We Cincy football fans have not had this much fun in years with the Bengals and Bearcats doing so well. The Cincinnati Bengals defense is really something to marvel at, I just wish our offense would step up to their level then we would truly have a powerhouse team. I am quite impressed with the running game though, Cedric Benson is a beast and has beasts backing him up.

1?! Dayum, yes, I guess that's right ... when you sweep your closest competition, a 3-game lead is really 3+.

Congrats! :kickass:

Haha, don't you know it, but at least they beat the Steelers and gave them their 5th defeat in a row!

But I also realize until we have a team that actually wants to be here and play here we will having nothing. These guys don't want to come here, except for a few exceptions.

Good bye Joshua Cribbs you were something special, go get your fame and glory with a good team!!!
