Sookie doesn't find out she's a fairy until book 6 or 7, and its Andre who tells her. Claudine just tells her that she's Sookie's 'fairy godmother' and Sookie finds out they're related in book 8. But since Claudine isn't even introduced until book 4, Sookie doesn't find out they exist until then.

Okay, Eric stripping (and Alexander's luscious abs...) YUMMY!!! He sounded so vulnerable when he was requesting privacy (so not an Eric thing, but we know he wanted the guards gone) and saying it'd been a while since he had been with a vampire... but YUM!!! Poor Talbot, being an innocent victim of Russell's past. Will Eric spin this somehow? And did he take the freaking crown after killing Talbot? And anyone else wondering how much the fact that Alex was naked and making out with another man is going to be mentioned in the gossip blogs tomorrow?

Yet another Sookie/Eric moment ruined, since he helps her out quite a bit with getting rid of the weres with Bill (though glad Jessica got in on the action). I guess this means he won't get to complain about her driveway (since that happens right before this scene) and then buy her a new one? As long as they have him around when Sookie actually does shoot Debbie...

Bill wasn't as bad in this episode - nice to see him actually teaching Jessica how to be a vampire (for once). Worst. Maker. Ever. The sex scene at the end though had me rolling my eyes - of course they had to run back to each other, though was it me or was Sookie strangling Bill during it?

Nice that Eric tried to warn Sookie and was trying to protect her from Russell. I hope the reason Bill went back to Bon Temps comes out soon. It should, with the thoughts Hadley was having about it being her fault, that she told them about Sookie.

I had to giggle at QSA's voice-over arrival at the mansion. I love her.

Anyone else hate that they're turning Calvin Norris into a complete douche on the show? In the books he's quite honerable and helpful (and into Sookie), but on the show he's just a meth dealing bastard. At least we've got the build up going for Jason's storyline next season...

So awesome to see Franklin, even if it was just in a dream. And RENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I love Hoyt and Jessica, is it wrong that I was disappointed there was no Summer in this episode? She cracks me up, though I expect her to start sprouting nerd-talk, work at the Cheesecake Factory and have Wolowitz show up (Big Bang Theory).

Does anyone else dislike Crystal? And does anyone else think she looks a bit like Kate Bosworth?

Next week's preview looks good (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65qWVlG4KSM&feature=player_embedded)(and with lots of Eric at Fangtasia)... and I think I saw Ginger!! Oh how I've missed that ditzy fangbanger. And Nan. And Pam. But things don't look so good for my favourite Sheriff (no, not Andy). And sadly Eric doesn't look like he's in the gorgeous sweater next week (back to his black tank tops).

Does anyone know anything about Holly the new waitress?

Those eyebrow arches looked demonic.....and witchy.

Someone on the TB facebook discussion board summed up last night's episode much better than I could:

"I am sick to death of the way Sookie is portrayed in this show (writing, actress, all of it). It has ruined the main character of the books, and I am sorry, the show may be different, but the main character should still be able to arouse love rather than hate in the viewers. We should be rooting for Sook, and at this point I hope she ends up alone dead in a ditch.

The sex scene at the end had me gagging."

Word.

In the books Holly is a Wiccan (though that's not common knowledge) who helps Sookie out a bit with the big plotline in book 4. Show Holly doesn't exactly look like I expected, but oh well.

To me, one of the best lines of the night yesterday came from Tara who actually makes sense now when she told Alcide to flirt some sense into Sookie. Hee hee. Yes, I think that both of you *should* be smart and fall for each other. If they're going to completely eff up the character of Eric at least let Sookie hook up with Alcide (who she has already made out with by this point of the books).

My father, who has only seen a few episodes of season 1, watched it with me last night and the first thing out of his mouth: "So Bill is still the worst actor and most annoying character on the show." And then at the end "well they almost made it a whole episode without nudity..."

I expect we'll just see more of the same since in the books, Bill is pretty much a non-entity after Book 3. In order to keep Steven Moyer in the cast, I suspect we'll see him assuming the roles Eric played in the books and Eric will be left with non-book stuff like the crown, selling V etc., we've seen this season, especially since AB thinks Bill is Sookie's soul mate.

I'm losing interest in the show and if it continues the way it's going, I fear the ratings will begin to drop just as did Six Feet Under. Sometimes AB gets something in his head and refuses to deviate to the cost of the program.

I agree that yesterday's episode was good and bad. I loved Eric both for the nakedness and for the fact that he warned Sookie.

Loved Jessica being taught by Bill. And loved Alcide.

I'm still bothered by the way Bill/Sookie are being written largely because I feel like, whether you root for Bill/Sookie or Eric/Sookie, a triangle is best when you can see the appeal of both sides and you can root for both sides and you're almost broken up about it. But with TB, I feel like we're being forced to love Bill/Sookie and not even being given a second option. I'm not saying that Eric/Sookie belong together but I think that involving Eric could make Bill a better man and make him more worthy of Sookie in teh long run. I just hate that we are being forced to like Bill/Sookie and having it be shoved down our throats.

Another thing that's odd is that I haven't been feeling a chemistry between Bill/Sookie. I felt it between Talbot/Eric, Eric/Sookie, Jesus/Lafayette, Jessica/Hoyt... but Bill/Sookie is lacking for me...

I agree about Holly; I always envisioned her as much younger. She looks a good 15 years older than she was portrayed in the books.

I agree 100% about Sookie and Alcide -- I'm pretty much ABB (Anyone But Bill) at this point.....

I spent most of these past few episodes hiding behind something (fingers, computer screen, husband etc.) so I don't have to look at orgy!sex or gratuitous gore. I am not a prude and I have a relatively tough stomach, but TB while always somewhat soft-core porn-ish seems to be getting pornier (not in a good way) and bloodier. I feel the violence!/sex! is sometimes done because it *can* be done (hey it's not TV, it's HBO on CABLE!) like there's no point other than titillation.

Sometimes less *is* more. I am more engaged in a show/story etc. if my brain/imagination has to work a bit, rather than just having it all laid out for me in technicolor.

Or maybe I am just turning into a cranky old prude...

Sadly, if they were going to go the ABB route, they could just follow the book storylines. :(

I still have my plan to write to HBO/Alan Ball - heck, even if they read the reviews of the show they'd see that most people dislike Sookie/Bill together. Because of how they're playing Eric, most fans currently want Sookie with Alcide (which is kind of how it was at this point of reading the books too) but I'm pretty sure after book 4, most people were like 'Bill who?' and the fans of the show seem to be leaning that way right now too.

Anyone else feeling the urge to write to HBO/Ball to give them your opinion?

A little off topic. But I'd like to see someone skate to:
The "True Blood" Love Theme piano version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XKnlsJFY_Q&feature=related
Violin version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlCqfF7mwOs&feature=related

Also True Bloods "Take Me Home"(one of my favorite songs) as an exhibition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onS1wZd3kBc

So much great music from the series. Especially the closing credits songs which are different every week.
