Excellent new trailer, thanks Screech.

I loved Jason's minisode the most too.

I should find out if my job will have the TB season 3 screener later this week. I work for a major cable company who owns HBO and for the last 2 seasons we've received advanced screeners of the upcoming season. The screener usually has about 3 episodes.

If we get, I'll let you know :)

I just began watching the first season on DVD. I'm just on the fourth epidsode and am loving it. I can't even imagine where the story is now. Anna Paquin is great; the whole cast is, actually.

ONE WEEK!!!

The awesomeness that is the Q&A with the cast (http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/06/05/true-blood-fan-experience/) that I mentioned a few days ago. It's abotu 45 minutes long, but it's really entertaining and a good watch.

Lafayette takes us through two seasons of True Blood in 5 minutes. (http://www.trueblood-online.com/second-season/season-2-recap-videos/catch-up-on-true-bloods-first-2-seasons-with-lafayette/) An awesome (and hilarious) recap.

The talk show circuit is starting.
- Video of Sam Trammell on Jimmy Kimmell Live (http://www.trueblood-online.com/cast-crew/sam-trammell-sam/video-sam-trammell-on-jimmy-kimmel-live/) from Friday, June 4
- Alfre Woodard who will be playing Lafayette's mother in Season 3 will be on George Lopez Tonight on Wednesday, June 9 at 10/9 central, on TBS.
- Stephen Moyer will be on Chelsea Lately on June 10 (should be fun - she should really play well with his awesome dry sense of humour)

A really great read about working with the wolves on (http://www.trueblood-online.com/behind-the-scenes/beware-of-the-big-bad-wolf-on-the-true-blood-set/) the show. Really interesting.

JUST ONE MORE WEEK!!!

Tuesday night was the premiere of season 3 - all the show's stars and significant others (including Carrie Preston's hubby Michael 'Ben Linus' Emerson and Kate Bosworth) walked the red carpet (though Kate and Alex walked separately). There are TONS of amazing photos (http://www.trueblood-news.com/the-true-blood-cast-arrives-for-the-s3-premiere) and its great to see some of the new stars like Joe Manganiello (Alcide) and Kevin Alejandro (Jesus), as well as som non-regulars like Allan Hyde (Godric) and Adina Porter (Lettie Mae who is STUNNING when she's not playing Tara's alcoholic mom).

HBO has released 6 new 1-2 minute clips from the show (http://seat42f.com/index.php/tv/tv-shows-mainmenu-241/hbo/true-blood/234-true-blood/7736-true-blood-season-3-sneak-peek-clips.html) and they are awesome. There's Bill, Sookie and Jessica, Jessica and Pam, Sookie and Alcide (loved this one), Sookie and Eric, and Eric and Pam (Eric in dangerously low slung pants and an open flowing silk robe).

Some great interview clips from E! (http://au.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b185009_true_bloods_big_stars_dish_on_sexual.html) with the cast (love seeing Stephen and Alex's bromance banter)

Natasha Alam (Yvetta - Fangtasia's new dancer and new 'friend' to Eric) is on the cover of July's Playboy (http://www.trueblood-news.com/true-bloods-natasha-alam-in-playboy). Despite being on the cover she says she was nervous to do nudity on TB because she had never done it before. This quote from her article makes me laugh (and envy her)"

“I’d never done nudity. I had to overcome a few things in my head to do it,” the actress tells the magazine. “[Then] here comes Alexander Skarsgard. He drops his robe, and he’s not wearing a sock — nothing. He’s just totally out there, walking around as if nothing’s going on. I was like, ‘If he can do it, I can do it.’”
(All the other men on the show wear the 'modesty sock' which covers the male genitalia and ties to keep it secure). Stephen Moyer will also be in the July issue, taking part in their 20 Questions feature.

3 DAYS...

Also, too bad CH totally had a different view of the character and killed him off in the last book.

Allan Hyde has said that he does appear in flashback form in season 3 (I think he's in one of the first 2 episodes). According to his twitter (@allanhyde) he was supposed to do some event in Australia later this month but had to cancel for work on True Blood, so I'm assuming that means he'll appear later in the season as well (they're currently filming the last 2 episodes).

As for Allan's portrayal, I know that HBO submitted episode 9 of season 2 for Emmy consideration (the one where he meets the sun) and I think one of the reasons is for his performance to be considered for guest actor, because he was brilliant. The other episode they sent in was episode 4, which is the one where everyone arrived in Dallas (shows can send in 2 episodes for consideration).

Speaking of which, Emmy nominations are announced on July 8. Any guesses for what our show will get? I'm guessing best drama, and maybe a nod for Anna, but I think that will be it, unless they give one to Alex for the rooftop scene in episode 9. The only other actor I could see really being considered is Deborah for her portrayal of Jessica.

From the premiere there are a $hitload of short interviews (http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/video?section=on_the_red_carpet&t=8) with basically everyone on the show - from Stephen to Tanya Wright (Kenya).

And (hopefully) finally for the day, Stephen, Anna and Alex cover the new Entertainment Weekly (http://www.trueblood-online.com/season-3/true-blood-graces-the-cover-of-entertainment-weekly/) (out this Friday)

Well I'm happy Alan Ball put his foot down on this :D

I don't mind Sam Trammell, but I'm not a fan of the character on the show - he doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the characters, even though his establishment is the centre of the show.

Since there are so many new characters on the show, there have been a few cast on cast interviews HBO has put out that are about 2 minutes in length titled 'Truebies and Newbies.'
Anna and Joe (Alcide) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6DVvxujfcs) - great chemistry
Nelsan and Kevin (Jesus) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywRDOwcjk7o)
Alexander and Dennis (Russell) (http://www.hbo.com/video/video.html/?autoplay=true&vid=1100501&filter=true-blood&view=null) - quite funny (it's from the HBO website, since I couldn't find it on youtube yet)

Anna pushing Alex and Stephen to kiss (http://skarsgardnews.com/?p=6959#comments). Need I say more? Sadly they didn't go all the way. (This is from a behind the scenes video of the cast's EW photoshoot (http://www.ew.com/ew/video/0,,20355856_20392427,00.html?bcpid=90870913001&bclid=91023465001&bctid=91248311001). The near kiss is in Stephen's video)

Another Truebies and Newbies. This one with Ryan and Lindsay (Crystal) (http://www.trueblood-news.com/truebies-newbies-jason-stackhouse)

Also, in somewhat randomness, though we were talking Emmy a bit ago, all shows have sumbitted their Emmy hopefuls - the list then gets narrowed down to the 5 or 6 official nominees. They sent in to be considered for best drama series (I think they might get a nomination this year). The acting submissions for our beloved show are:

Guest Actor:
Allan Hyde (Godric, for the episode "I Will Rise Up" - the one where he meets the sun) - I think he deserves a nod, but for some reason I don't think he'll get one. Unfortunately even if he does he has no chance of winning, since John Lithgow is in the guest instead of supporting category for his turn on Dexter, and he will be (deservedly) unbeatable.

Guest Actress:
Ashley Jones (Daphne for "Release Me" - I think its the one where she explains the maenad then dies)
Adina Porter (Lettie Mae Thornton for "New World in My View" - the one where they try to get Tara back to her rights)
Dale Raoul (Maxine Fortenberry for "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'" - crazy, then confirms all the stuff she said to Hoyt while crazy )
Evan Rachel Wood (Queen Sophie-Anne for "Frenzy" - her main episode - Hangin' with Bill + Yahtzee!)
- Though many didn't like ERW, I thought she fit the tone of QSA quite well, and whether liked or not, she may get a nomination just based on her name alone. I thought Dale was really great though.

Anna and Stephen's names were submitted in the lead roles. I think Anna could get a nomination this year, but I don't think Stephen was strong (or prominent) enough to get one.

For supporting actress they submitted Patricia Bethune (Jane Bodehouse - which surprised me, I would have been surprised even if they went guest), Michelle Forbes (Maryanne), Mariana Klaveno (Lorena - surprised they didn't go guest for her), Rutina Wesley (Tara) and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica). Of the bunch I think Michelle and Deborah have the best chances, but doubt either.

Supporting Actor submisstions are pretty predictable. Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette), Ryan Kwanten (Jason), Alexander Skarsgard (Eric) and Sam Trammell (Sam). I'm not too optimistic for any of these ones, though I've said before I'm a fan of Alex's work on the rooftop scene (which was apparently done in just 2 takes!!)

In any case, our show has its season premiere TOMORROW!!!! Can you believe its so close?

Thoughts on the season premiere?

I found the scenes were really short and for the most part, entertaining. I'm not a fan of Sam's character, so I found his bit dull, though I was laughing hysterically during his dream of Bill.

I thought Evan Rachel Wood was really enjoyable in her bits (and looked fan-freaking-tastic!) Wonder if it was weird for her to grab Alex's crotch, since they were rumored to be dating last year before he started with Kate Bosworth. Loved Pam, loved the Eric bits, but wish we had more time spent on his butt (but thanks for the couple of scenes with his abs!!) And liked the Sookie bits and Jessica bits, and I just adore Hoyt.

Best line of the night:
”I’m sorry you fell in love with a serial killer, but honestly, around here, who hasn’t?” - Arlene to Tara

My favourite bit from a recap (about ASkar's body of course):

...and there it is … Alexander Skarsgard’s gloriously naked body. How do I describe it in a way that does it justice? Let’s just say that it’s like Michelangelo’s David got himself an agent and said, “Book me on whatever show requires the least clothing.”

In fact, his body is so spectacular that I’m almost able to overlook the ways they desperately try to hide his mini-Vlad the Impaler, even though he’s strutting around the room bare-assed nekkid. Seriously, Austin Powers did the hide-the-salami bit with more elegance and artistry than here. And who exactly is the shy one here? Skarsgard? HBO? Or are they saving the full monty for a later episode?
Hee, especially at the mini-Vlad the Impaler bit.

My favorite part of last night's episode was Pam. She's great and cracks me up. The actress does a great job with her. Loved Bill's dream lol.

Overall enjoyed the new episode. Was nice to have some nekkid Eric =D
