I agree with you guys; I think the actress lacks the "grit" needed to play Debbie. She's a shifter, and a real bitch, but still was able to hook Alcide into falling in love with her. The lady they chose seems a bit bland to me, but I'll wait til we see her on the show before I start ragging on her :saint:

Some fun Jason and Hoyt news from TV Guide Magazine (http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/kecks-exclusives/true-bloods-odd-couple--4013.html)
Makes sense for Hoyt to move in with Jason now that he's left his mom's house. Though I can't quite see Jason inviting Hoyt into a foursome, though I can definitely see Jason in a threesome. Love that Hoyt is so devoted to Jessica, despite their problems.
Should definitely be entertaining!

Deborah Ann Woll talks about True Blood (http://truebloodnet.com/deborah-ann-woll-shares-experience-true-blood/) and her experience on the show.

Sinbad wants to guest star on True Blood. (http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/entertainment/2038251,6_NA9_Sinbad-s-happy-to-keep-on-working.article) Nothing against the guy, but please no. I'd rather Snoop do it.

Mariana Klaveno: From waitressing to the SAG Awards in a year (http://www.popeater.com/2010/02/09/mariana-kleveno-from-waitressing-to-witnessing-the-sag-awards-i/)

Video from the SAG red carpet (http://www.sagawards.org/videos/16wrap) featuring Deborah, Alex, Marianna, Mehcad... they answer questions like what its like to be there (Deborah was most excited to see her bf in a tux since they're jeans people, Alex says it's humbling), when they got their SAG cards (Marianna was blown up on Alias... Alex thought they were going to ask when he got that tall), what makes the SAG Awards special (Mehcad says it's them respecting each other and patting themselves on the back), what they're most excited for (Alex was excited to hang out with the whole group, since there's 17 of them, they were all at the SAG awards and they never all work together b/c of so many storylines). The video also features other stars like Sandra Bullock, Betty White, some Glee cast, some Dexter, William H Macy, Helen Mirren, etc.

2nd part of Alex's FX UK Season 2 interview (http://truebloodnet.com/video-alexander-skarsgard-interviewed-fx-uk-part-2/). He talks about how Eric loves to agitate Bill, and also the filming of Eric's intro to season 2 where he kills that guy in the Fangtasia dungeon, and how sticky the fake blood was.

Haha I'm keen to head there for tall blond and sexies!

Alright, jumping to the gossip train, it's starting to seem like it's just a matter 'official' confirmation...

I'm a little surprised at this, as Kate doesn't really seem to fit into the "non dressy women" category IMO. One thing I can say for her is she sure has a talent for snagging exceptionally good looking guys as boyfriends. :)

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer's film "Open House" will be at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC from April 21-May 2. It was written and directed by Anna's brother Andrew, and the two have just small roles in the movie. http://truebloodnet.com/open-house-anna-paquin-stephen-moyer-tribeca-film-festival/

Info from Kevin Alejandro (new character not in the books) about his character and his first scene on the show. http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-season-3-spoiler-news-kevin-alejandro-first-scene/

Some random Season 3 casting news (http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-season-3-casting-news-additional-roles-set/) including Don Swayze, who looks exactly like his late, great big brother.

I've already purchased DVD Season 1 of True Blood & have Season 2 pre-ordered. I suppose I'm going to have to break down & buy the books from Amazon. I can't keep up with all the different critters y'all keep mentioning.

I guess I could read them from the library, but to me....most of the books from the library smell funny & some of them have been smoking cigarettes, both of which I can't stand. Maybe I could try Half-Price Books to cut down of the number of previous readers. Any other suggestions?

They are really great escapes from oridnary life, aren't they!!!

I suppose I'm going to have to break down & buy the books from Amazon. I can't keep up with all the different critters y'all keep mentioning.
The books are pretty entertaining. Not exactly Shakespeare or anything, but decently written, and Charlaine Harris does a good job of sucking you into Sookie's world. Just a heads up - everything is from Sookie's POV, so you don't see what goes on with Jason, or Bill or anyone, unless they're in the scene with her. I got completely sucked in to the books and am anxiously awaiting book 10 on May 4th.

I agree with you that library books smell. Maybe you could get the first one from there, see how you like it, then decide whether you want to spend the $$ to buy them or what not...

In other stuff... okay, I'm kinda (but not really) ashamed to say that I occasionally check out Joe Manganiello's (Alcide) twitter (http://twitter.com/joemanganiello) and his random TB related comments make me laugh...

Quality Problem: i might miss the WOLFMAN premiere tonight... because i'm playing a wolfman on TV...

Happy "V" Day everybody... remember... any more than a drop or two could mean trouble... (hee hee love that one... Kids, don't do V!)

Artists on Demand Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/artistsondemandradio/2010/02/16/allan-hyde) has Allan Hyde as their special guest on tonight’s broadcast. Tune in at 10PM Eastern to hear Allan talk about his role on True Blood, breaking into the business, and what else he’s been up to recently. (In other news, though he doesn't mention TB that much, his twitter (http://twitter.com/allanhyde) is pretty entertaining too).

Sam Trammell offers some scoop (http://www.rabiddoll.com/node/1105) on his storyline for season 3.

Some ASkars talk Eric's interest in Sookie (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s59/true-blood/tubetalk/a185946/true-blood-an-interview-with-a-vampire.html)

Some snippets:

Does Eric have genuine feelings for Sookie? Or is he doing it to get at Bill?
"He's intrigued by her, for sure. When he meets her for the first time, he knows there's something different about her and that intrigues him. He doesn't care too much for humans in general - he thinks they're pathetic - but when he meets her, there's something about her. He can't put his finger on it, but he's curious for sure."

It's not just a case of forbidden fruit?
"No – he's curious and he's not gonna let Bill stop him because Bill's just this little kid!"

Sookie aside, is there anyone else in the show at the moment that Eric would be a good match for?
"I don't know, man. He's already got his Pam - even though that's not a sexual thing, he's got his partner. For sexual attraction, it's all about Sookie."

We've seen you naked a fair few times throughout the series. How is it filming those kinds of scenes?
"It doesn't really bother me that much. I've been naked in movies before so I don't really care about it. I grew up in Sweden so it's not a big issue."

Where would you like to see Eric end up by the season three finale?
"I just trust Alan and the writers - they're doing such a great job. I don't know where I want him to go. When reading the scripts, I wanna continue to be surprised and discover different sides of Eric. Hopefully we'll get to know him a little better."

How long do you see the series running for?
"I don't know - 45 years?! I'm having a blast, so hopefully we'll get to do it for a while. I love this show and my character."
Um, we've seen him naked once, not 'a fair few times'... I want whatever version of TB they're seeing!

Also, a semi-spoilery bit from the interview...
Alan Ball has hinted that the Queen of Louisiana will get her comeuppance this season. Will Eric have anything to do with that?
"They have this little business on the side so they'll definitely interact more I'm sure. Maybe they'll get punished for that - I don't know. I know less than all the fans on the blogs! I try to stay away from the fan sites because it's not good for me to read that stuff - it'll just freak me out!"

In other TB news, Mehcad Brooks was in the front row of the Calven Klein show at NY Fashion Week, along with fellow undies model Kellan Lutz, Chace Crawford, Ryan Philippe, Jared Leto.... Man, would have been a nice view, just to look at that front row!

Alright, some new stuff...

HBO will be re-airing Season 2 of True Blood starting Sunday, March 21 at 8pm. That should lead right up to the Season 3 premiere. (Source) (http://truebloodnet.com/season-3-true-blood-hbo-re-air-season-two/)

Some pictures of some True Blood location sets (http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-season-3-filming-location-photos/) where filming is taking place. The first picture gives a bit of info on the equipment/shooting for the scenes. It also says that the production company is 'Fangbanger Productions Inc.' which just made me giggle.

Sam Trammell has given some slightly spoilery info (http://true-blood.net/2010/02/19/true-blood-news-wrap-up-alexander-skarsgard-sam-trammell/) on his character for the upcoming season.

The previous link also mentions that ASkars was at the launch of the fourth edition of The Last Magazine (Kate Bosworth was also there, though they supposedly kept their distance). Alex is apparently in the magazine with this smokin' hot picture of him in the shower! (http://skarsgardnews.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/alexandercappello.jpg) Sadly it's only from the neck up.

Joe Manganiello has landed a lead role in a new sitcom Pilot for CBS called Livin' on a Prayer (http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-werewolf-joe-manganiello-sitcom-role/).

Manganiello, 33, will swap his claws and fur to play Doug, a husband, father, and former high school football player. So from wolf skin to pigskin? The CBS pilot is by the creators of the popular sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
Joe was on a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother as a friend of the gang (and was even one of Marshall's groomsmen at the wedding). I hope he'll still be available for his recurring role as Alcide if they decide to keep it in upcoming seasons, but kudos to Joe!

An interview with Lindsay Pulsipher (http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8384:exclusive-interview-lindsay-pulsipher-tames-the-beast-and-true-blood-&catid=43:exclusive-features&Itemid=73) (Crystal Norris). She talks about herself, her role on The Beast, and her role on True Blood.

And finally...
True Blood nominated for 5 Saturn Awards (http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-nominated-five-saturn-awards/) (The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films)

It has been nominated in the following categories:
- Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series (against Breaking Bad, Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Dexter and Leverage)

- Best Actress on Television for Anna Paquin (against Anna Gunn - Breaking Bad, Jennifer Love Hewitt - The Ghost Whisperer, Evangeline Lily - Lost, Kyra Sedgwick - The Closer, Anna Torv - Fringe)-
- Best Supporting Actor on Television for Alexander Skarsgard (against Jeremy Davies - Lost, Michael Emerson - Lost, Aldis Hodge - Leverage, Aaron Paul - Breaking Bad, John Noble - Fringe)

Congratulations to the nominees! The awards take place on June 24 in Burbank California

And a bit more...

First off, ASkars was at the Calvin Klein show at NY Fashion Week. This is pretty droolworthy (Source) (http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2010/02/helena_christensen_had_to_drag.html)

For True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård, who had female (and male) partygoers gazing lustfully at him all evening, any sort of sexy Calvin-style campaign would be nothing compared with his racy scenes on the HBO hit. "I’m pretty much naked on every other episode now," he said. "I think people get sick of that."
Somehow I doubt that. But YAY! But is it going to be 'naked' like how he was naked during the Sookie dream sequence, or will we actually get to see some tush and chest? Knowing True Blood they'll probably tease us with some upper thigh. And then some back. And then upper chest/shoulder area...

A fun interview about season 2 and randomness that he did with The Guardian (UK) (http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2010/feb/20/alexander-skarsgard-true-blood-one-last-thing)
Some funny bits:

Hi, Alexander! In True Blood, you own Fangtasia, a vampire bar. What would happen if Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Edward from Twilight or Kiefer Sutherland from The Lost Boys dropped in for a snifter?
Well, Fangtasia is open to humans and vampires alike so we're very welcoming. I'd buy Edward and Kiefer some Tru Blood and I'd buy Buffy a memorabilia T-shirt. Ha!

Do you sleep in a coffin in real life or do you prefer to hang upside down like Batman?
I'm obviously a very diligent actor so I slept in a coffin for three months to prepare for the job. I work with Alan Ball, so obviously I slept Six Feet Under.

There's a funny circle thing over the A in Skarsgård. How do I get one?
I was born and raised in Stockholm. I'm very proud of that little circle! We don't really have that sound in English. It's kind of the way you Brits say, "fart", like "fort", with more of an "oar" sound.

And finally, an interview with Mehcad Brooks (http://www.ifmagazine.com/feature.asp?article=3702) where he talks True Blood and his new show, The Deep End.

Alright, a bit more fluffy stuff...

First off, did you guys know that ASKars could basically kill a guy with his bare hands? He is a former anti-terrorist Swedish marine (http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/tv_and_radio/article7031443.ece) trained in hand-to-hand combat, small-squad battle tactics, beach landings and anti-sabotage assaults.

In some not so good news. ASkars movie Straw Dogs has had its release date pushed back (http://www.joblo.com/arrow/index.php?id=20936) from February 11 2011 to September 16 2011. The movie finished filming I think last September, so for it to be having a release date 2 years later - that's usually not a good sign. February 2011 was already a pretty long wait between filming and release, so who knows.

Charlaine Harris' other big novel series, the Harper Connelly series is being made into a comic book. (http://splashpage.mtv.com/2010/02/24/true-blood-authors-harper-connelly-series-gets-comic-book-adaptation/) They're pretty good. For those who haven't heard of them, Harper is in her 20s and when she was a teenager was struck by lightning and is now able to find dead people and determine cause of death (though nothing more than cause) and she makes her living using her talent. There are only 4 books in the series (Harris has ended the series) but they're quite enjoyable.

And speaking of Charlaine Harris, a comic book is being made about her (http://splashpage.mtv.com/2010/02/26/exclusive-true-blood-creator-next-subject-of-female-force-bio-comics/) in the 'female force' bio comics.

Alex, Stephen Moyer, Michelle Forbes, Sam Trammell, Ryan Kwanten and Deborah Ann Woll were at the premiere (http://www.accidentalsexiness.com/2010/02/25/hbo-party-brings-out-true-blood-hotness/) of the HBO miniseries The Pacific last week.

Anna Paquin was a presenter at the Costume Guild Awards (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2010/02/anna-paquin-lends-support-to-costume-guild-awards/1). Carrie Preston (http://truebloodnet.com/photos-carrie-preston-attends-12th-annual-costume-designers-guild-awards/) (along with hubby Michael Emerson from Lost) and Chris Bauer (http://truebloodnet.com/photos-chris-bauer-attends-12th-annual-costume-designers-guild-awards/) were also there.

A list of all the awesome sounding features on the Season 2 dvd/blu-ray (http://true-blood.net/2010/02/24/hbo-steps-up-true-blood-season-2-dvd-bonus-features/) (released May 25, just in time for season 3)

UK TV - Sink Your Teeth into Season 2 (http://truebloodguide.com/2010/02/27/sink-your-teeth-into-all-new-true-blood-uk-season-2/) Alex giggles in it. Plus jokes that being Scandinavian, he and his family would (of course) watch the show naked. Michelle Forbes also offers insight into season 2. But the highlight is the giggle.

And finally, brace yourselves...

Super exciting: you can bid on a chance to win (http://true-blood.net/2010/02/27/true-blood-fans-bid-on-a-chance-to-visit-the-set-meet-the-cast/) a visit for 2 to the True Blood set, plus a poster autographed by the cast, as well as joining the cast for lunch during their designated lunch break.

We have an official premiere date for season 3 - June 13!! (And don't forget, HBO will start re-airing Season 2 on March 21).

HBO is soon going to premiere True Blood minisodes (3-5 minutes). These minisodes serve the joint purpose of promoting season 3 and filling in some of the blanks between seasons 2 and 3. They will feature various characters in short storylines, including Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) in a revealing nightclub scene. Source (http://true-blood.net/2010/03/09/exclusive-true-blood-minisodes-are-on-the-way/)

And just because... Alexander Skarsgard did an insanely sexy photoshoot and a great interview with LA Times Magazine. Definitely worth the read (and the droolworthy photos). LA Times Magazine (http://www.latimesmagazine.com/2010/03/millennium-man.html)

Pushing back from February to September is not necessarily a bad thing. February is where films go to die. September may be later, but it usually shows more faith on the part of the studio. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the studio's motivation is to have the film come out right after a new season of True Blood.
