As a whole this episode was 'meh.

Liked: Eric flying and the teacup humans part. Jason's line about 'It's in the Bible...or maybe the Constitution'. Pam's 80s'/Dynasty outfit fabulousness. Finally we are seeing some of the sense of humor she has in the books (it's about friggin' time).

Disliked:Bill getting set up to be then one who 'saves the day' and Sookie is so, so blah. I am also wondering why it seems the Queen is holding Eric against his will. Could it be she doesn't want him interfering with Bill's 'Sookie mission'? I also hate that Eric has been written straight back into bad-guy mode and that they are acting like the whole Godric/Eric thing didn't happen, especially with the way Sookie still is so negative towards Eric. Blech. Tara is officially an idiot for going back to Eggs, and she and Eggs breaking Sookie's Gran's things peeved me off. Overall the Maryann storyline should have wrapped up about 4 episodes ago.

The sign on the club door "Sorry - We're Dead" had me in stitches!

The sign on the club door "Sorry - We're Dead" had me in stitches!I gotta watch that episode again because I totally missed that.

Jason's character makes me howl. Him and Pam had the best lines this episode.

I love Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen. "You and Eric should just feck each other and get it over with."

If I'm ever a vampire, I want to be just like her. Complete with succulent Slavs.

Eric in a dress, Eric and the teacups, Eric in a silver suit, Eric pissing off Bill and Eric flying (!) were the best parts of the episode. :cheer:

I would so watch a show called TrueBlood: The Eric Northman Chronicles :swoon:

Hated the Queen. Why does she talk like a valley girl?!

Didn't like Evan Rachel Wood as the Queen. Love the character, the setting(killer day room :summer:) complete with the all you can eat buffet :P, but she fell flat for me.

I lurve Jason. His by play with Andy was hilarious. Sam shapeshifting into a chicken, and possibly eating his own egg? His hard knock life of working out and watching a lot of porn  Classic!

On that same note, maybe Jason isn't that far off and it would explain the egg in the nest that Tara and Eggs were guarding. Then again, maybe it it is connected with Eggs in some way, hence the name.

Ack! I LOVE the show when it stays within the vampire storyline. Once it jumps into Maryann and her random orgies, it completely loses me. The egg is completely random. Will I be tuning in, in two weeks to find out how they explain the whole thing...heck yeah!

I agree. This is someone who we're supposed to believe is even older than Godric? I didn't expect her to LOOK older, but I expected her to be a little more imperious in her behavior. They cast the role too young IMO.

I couldn't understand how old she was supposed to be either.

I thought she said something on Sunday's episode about being 'turned' right before the industrial revolution but that would make her quite young for a vampire. I was thinking 'how did she get to be Queen when she is only @ 100 years old?'

The industrial revolution was more than 100 years ago. We're in the 21st century now, and it was pretty much a 19th century phenomenon, with beginnings in the 18th.

But anyway I thought she said the Latvian boy tasted like people did before the Industrial Revolution, which would mean she was old enough as a vampire to have a basis for comparison. I don't remember any clues more specific than that.

I think I'll watch it again tonight to see if I can pick up on anything else more specific.

In the books, she was a teenager when turned.

And that's fine. I'm not talking about looks. I'm talking about being immortal for thousands of years. Are we to believe that Godric (who looked fairly young himself) is the only vamp to get "world weary"? Regardless of the age when turned, I would expect a pre-Industrial Age vampire to convey a fair amount of eccentricity - maybe even act somewhat unhinged. She played it too silly IMO.

Perhaps. In the books she's much colder and more calculating, especially when there's the whole marriage with the King of Arkansas political alliance. Hopefully, they'll develop that more in the next couple of seasons since it's crucial to a couple of plot lines down the road.
