Congrats to the new World Champion (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0aFA0FZgUNczy)

Looking good in stripes (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0djugnDfp90Fp/x610.jpg)

I wonder if Goss could have pulled off the upset if Renshaw had been picked for the team and was there as a leadout for him? And what about Fabian losing third in a photo finish on a real sprinters' finish - very impressive.

Looks like Team GB enjoyed celebrating the Worlds win:

Jeremy Hunt on the flight home (http://yfrog.com/klm54hsj)

Tweet from Millar: "Oh. My. God. I think a pig has shit in my head."

And from Wiggins: "Balls! Sore head missed my flight”

Geraint Thomas tweet: "Passionate fans at the airport!! Stannard just got kissed... By a bloke"

FINALLY got to watch the race and :cheer: :cheer2: :cheer: :cheer2: :40beers:! I can't even stop smiling, I'm so excited to see him wearing rainbow all year! :biggrinbo: Loved seeing Goss and Cav celebrate together. I still can't believe that Australia left Renshaw of the team for a sprint finish.

I can't believe that HTC could very well have had both the Time Trial and Road Race World Champions this year and they couldn't find a sponsor.

I though the same thing (and not to mention the silver medalist as well!). It's sad to see such a powerful team disbanded. :( Although, I'm interested in seeing what it'll be like if Renshaw and Cavendish separate. :shuffle:

Is it safe to assume that the Manx Missile is going to Sky?

That seems to be the prevailing opinion. In any event, he and Renshaw will separate since Mark Renshaw has signed with Rabobank. Poor Cav, he'll have to stare at someone else butt for weeks on end. I doubt it will be nearly as exciting.

I know we've talked in the past about ex-skater Kathryn Bertine's attempts to find a new sport that would enable her to go to the Olympics and how she ended up in cycling riding for St Kitts and Nevis. Here's a funny column about her experience at the recent World Championships (http://espn.go.com/espnw/athletes-life/7037017/london-calling-kathryn-bertine-world-wackiness)

A 2012 TdF route was posted on the site before being quickly taken down. (http://inrng.com/2011/10/2012-tour-de-france-route/) Not sure if the route is legit, but if it is, the long TT does not do Andy any favors. Could be a nice route for Cadel or Wiggins.

Only four mountain stages to watch the current world champion subtly clinging to team cars on the way up.....(I kid, I kid!!)

If this is legit, the Schlecks should go ahead and sit this one out. Maybe Fabian can go for the occasional stage win.

In news that shocks absolutely nobody, Cav signs with Sky (http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cavendish-eisel-join-team-sky). Bernie Eisel will be joining him at Sky.

Glad it is finally official. It'll be interesting to see how the team manages both him and Wiggins, especially with Cav as World Champion. Not the best timing for Cav to win the Rainbow Jersey and then have to move to a team that can't focus entirely on stage wins.

One advantage for Cav is that Sky is just about the only team willing to focus primarily on Cav winning a gold medal at the London Olympics and designing a program around that. I think the bigger conflict will come the following year when London is out of the way and the main focus is once again the TdF.

Did you see Cav's shorts dilemma on twitter? Apparently, the UCI will only let you wear World Champion rainbow on your shorts if you wear white shorts, and not black. Cav was insisting he'd go with regular team issue black shorts in that case.

Good for Cav. White shorts are an abomination.
