Johnny said "I'm not like anyone else, like "purple pajamas". Purple pajamas, there have been 13 of him. I'm the one that's me. How boring would figure skating be if there were no music, there was no sparkle, there was no razzle-dazzle?"

LOL. Yay. Someone needed to put those dumb comments in their place.

(although of course purple pajamas was impressive in his own right and IMHO deserved to win the 1994 olympics)

ITA! Johnny's responses should be written and sent to Elvis and everyone involved in that discraceful "tough" campaign. I respect Johnny Weir so much more than I already did. And I am a Canadian.

the 1994 Olympics were subjective. Elvis did omit a 2nd triple axel in the FS. A Canadian judge put him in 2nd place in a very close decision.

Are you sure he is being serious? Maybe he just means he practiced his Poker Face exhibition for his show in Japan this week. But if he did really meet her, that would be great.

Is he still in Toronto? She was there for the Much Music Video Awards this weekend.

Johnny really did spend 45-minutes with the actual Lady Gaga today (in addition to whatever time he spends with the recording of Lady Gaga singing her "Poker Face" song).

No, he has been home in New Jersey since last week, according to his Twitter. She must have flown back to NY after the music awards. I wonder how Johnny got to meet her? But how totally exciting for him!

I enquired about the possibility of the film being screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival (in September) and they said they'll look into and consider it. :cheer2:

I sent an email to the Chicago Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (it's in Nov) and recommended the film (even though I haven't seen it, I feel it's a safe bet). They sounded interested and said they would contact the directors.

I really just want to see it in my own city....but I don't especially want to wait until Nov. Our main film fest is in Oct....but for some reason this movie seems to be only at GLBT film fests! For those who've seen it--wouldn't it be a good entry at a non-gay event? Considering it's about Johnny, one would think he'd prefer it to be at a more "general" type fest, rather than just one showing films with that theme. I dunno.
