I love how he responded to the question on masculinity in men's skating. "I want to be pretty!"

I can't wait to see this movie!

What was your question?

What was your question?

I asked Johnny a two-part question about whether he thinks there is a lot of internalized homophobia among the gay members who run the USFSA, the judges, coaches, etc...and if he noticed a difference in the attitudes of the European and Asian cultures. This was on the heels of comments from Paris about how the press makes such a big deal about masculinity and femininity in men's skating...but what is the difference, where is the line and who cares?

The film is being shown at LGBT film festivals all over the country. It isn't like it was an inappropriate question.

Thank you for the link, libby. The movie sounds awesome, and I love Johnny's calm and articulate answers to those questions.

I'm sad your question (and the answer) didn't make the cut. :( Too bad, because the site claimed they filmed the entire Q&A session, but is seems they are only showing selected parts of it. :blah:

How do we know that Groshkova's question won't be in Part 2 of the Q&A that's coming up on Monday?

Your question sounds like a good one. I wonder why it got edited out?

I suppose that is possible - I don't know why it would have been edited to put the questions out of sequence, but it could have been.

Entire PS, as well as more than one of Groshkova's posts

We have a forum for political discussion where you can discuss politics to your heart's content. We have that forum because the majority of the members here decided that they didn't want to enraged by political comments in other forums and in threads where political comments would be inappropriate.

Can everyone please keep that in mind for future reference?

I hope it wasn't left out due to not being "pc" which would be ridiculous (ummm, USFSA?)..and so NOT Johnny. And you're right, it is a GLBT film fest (although some people wonder why it's being shown there) so it's a very appropriate question.

Perhaps some of the Q&A was destined to be cut due to time constraints for the video. We'll see...maybe it will be in part 2.
