OK. I know you are all desperate for reviews, but if you DO plan to see this anytime soon, I suggest that you NOT read any more reviews. People are starting to fill in every detail of the film. Part of the pleasure of this movie was the unfolding of events, the details and nuance of seeing Johnny's reactions and interactions, etc. And a big part of that was the chance to see something NEW and yet very familiar in each scene.

If you already know about all the little funny bits, etc. I think it will not be as much of an adventure in Johnny-land. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks so much. :encore: I was just about to look at all of them. Now I will keep my "Pop Star" cherry unpopped until I actually get to see the film.

Although it is sooo tempting :saint:

Just ordered tickets to the NewFest premiere! Just an FYI, you may need to update your browser to be able to order tickets on line. Otherwise, there is a $5 service charge per ticket. But the individual at the box office was really great!

Spending three nights in Manhattan as a tourist will be interesting after living there for twenty years! :)

Thanks for the reports and tidbits. :cheer: A dvd would be good, it's probably the only way I'd be able to watch it.

The tickets are $50 each, right?

(Just checking. I had thought festival movies were often the same price as regular movies?)

You're not crazy. POI is being shown during the film festival's closing night festivities, hence the more :bribe: ticket. Plus, Johnny should show up!

Here film festival tickets are comparable to regular tickets, except for the opening and closing night features, and I think there might be a mid-festival highlight that's more as well. Perhaps Johnny's film is one of the features of the festival? ETA: as HisWeirness sez, it's the closing night film.

I don't know that I'd have gone if the tickets were $50. :scream:

Yeah, really. It's a block away from my apartment, but $50?!?!?! I still may go because the film looks hilarious. I also used to know (but lost touch with) the guys who made the film. I'm thrilled for their success.

I don't think they'll want it back - it's kind of banged up and really tarnished. I think there's a dent or two as well. :shuffle:

Keep it going! I hope more and more people get to see it and skating benefits from the attention it might get! :cheer2:

well it seems to be working.. I have never really been swayed by him either way as I prefer to judge skaters by the on ice - not off ice drama.. anyway in watching those trailers I am becoming more intrigued  by Johnny .. for sure left me wanting more :shuffle:
