I seriously doubt it. There is plenty of pressure and doubt in every performer to take on the chattering of hundreds of people whose opinion can hurt. Would you want a very talented Rachael Flatt to lurk here, or Evan, or Carolina? When every gesture you make is under a microscope? Boards are great, I for one alsmost live here, but I hope elite athletes don't examine them too closely.
I'm not saying they do, but I totally would. I couldn't resist the temptation, even if it did freak me out.

I'm sorry, but I find this (http://twitter.com/RachaelFlatt/statuses/2120432361) completely

RachaelFlatt: Report card arrived-straight A's!! I think I will treat myself to some new MAC Hello Kitty Eye Shadow :-) ... support teamusa.org

Seriously, if I didn't know already that this IS Rachael (according to FSOnline) I would think it was a prankster...(or a PR agent) :shuffle:

Um... this isn't the real Rachel Flatt, is it? If it is, it appears she's just joined:

http://twitter.com/RachaelFlatt

I ask this because she's following me... without me following her. Bizarre.

I know, she's following me, too. Kinda freaky. My guess is that she (or her publicist) is choosing to follow Twitterers who follow other top skaters, figuring that will entice them to start following her as well. Worked on me. ;)

Oh God, please do not let Caroline or any other young top ranked skaters ever come to FSU. :yikes: Let Caroline remain a FSU virgin!

Seriously! The first rule of FSU is, you don't talk about FSU.:revenge:

Just to clarify: Figure Skaters Online only runs http://www.twitter.com/fsonline/. In addition to providing skaters with official Web sites, we occasionally help them set up a Facebook or Twitter page but we don't post for them. Figure Skaters Online includes 40-60 skaters at any given moment so we would never have the time to take on additional duties. (And our entire staff works for FREE so the time we have in addition to our day jobs is already limited.)

We are really proud of Rachael for getting straight As in school so we did respond to her Tweet. We think she deserves some MAC make-up if that's what she treats herself with. :) FSOnline will occasionally respond to other Twitter users. We'll also reTweet some of the more interesting Tweets from our athletes.

If skaters are smart, they will mention their sponsors and supporters (as well as potential sponsors and supporters) in Tweets. I know it's not the most exciting thing for us to read but let's be honest, it's a good way to show that they're a good ambassador. It's all part of the game. Remember when Evan kept calling it the AT&T U.S. Championships? They signed an endorsement deal with him later so our annoyance turned into a paycheck for Evan. Skating is expensive. No shame for Rachael plugging Mac!

I feel so unloved because she isn't following me :wuzrobbed :drama:

I signed up for twitter recently mainly so I could post my own travel updates.... but it's been fun following some skaters. :)

I'm getting sick of it after only a week or two. Some folks post way too much.:wall::scream:
