Three of those goals were scored by Mario Gomez  :respec: I like to mock him but I secretly root for him to return to his Super Mario state.

Liverpool storms back to beat Napoli 3-1 which caught me by surprise but very happy for the team. So it was a mixed day for the EPL but a great day for the RPL with both Zenit and CSKA winning their EL games. The Serie A had not such a good day with the aforementioned loss to Liverpool while Juventus drew 0-0 Salzburg. Poland's Lech seems to be the Cinderella story of the Europa League so far. Good on them. Here are the results for today:

Rapid Wien 1 - 2 CSKA Sofia
Steaua 3 - 1 Utrecht
AEK 1 - 1 Anderlecht
Club Brugge 0 - 2 Dinamo Zagreb
Juventus 0 - 0 Salzburg
Dynamo Kyiv 2 - 0 AZ
CSKA Moskva 3 - 1 Palermo
Gent 3 - 1 Sporting
Levski 2 - 2 Lille
BATE 3 - 1 Sheriff
Rosenborg 1 - 2 AtlÚtico
Lausanne 1 - 3 Sparta Praha
Leverkusen 1 - 0 Aris
Lech 3 - 1 Man. City
PAOK 1 - 0 Villarreal
Getafe 0 - 3 Stuttgart
PSV 3 - 0 Debrecen
Porto 1 - 1 Beşiktaş
PSG 0 - 0 Dortmund
Hajduk Split 2 - 3 Zenit
Sevilla 4 - 0 Karpaty
Sampdoria 0 - 0 Metalist
OB 2 - 0 Young Boys
Liverpool 3 - 1 Napoli

In CONCACAF qualifying for the 2011 WWC & the CONCACAF 2010 Woman's Championship:

Mexico and Canada will play for the championship as the 2 automatic quaifiers for the 2011 WWC in Germany.

The USA will play Costa Rica in the 3rd place game for the right to meet the 5th place team from UEFA - Italy - in a home & home series to qualify for the 2011 WWC.

NJL (..Mexico's 2-1 victory over the US in semi-final play was their first in 26 tries...to call it an upset is an understatement..)

Liverpool has signaled they are back with a bang and I can stop worrying about them now because they just beat Chelsea 2-0 thanks to two goals by Fernando Torres who has justified his coach's faith in him. Well done. :)

My LA Galaxy became the only favorite to make the MLS conference finals tonight with a 2-1 victory over the Sounders...winning 3-1 on aggregate. Beckham with two assists off of set pieces.

The Galaxy just beat FC Dallas a couple of weeks ago, so I hope they can duplicate that result.

Liverpool! :cheer:

Fernando! :cheer:

I had a suspicion with Gerrard's hat trick against Napoli that maybe LFC was getting their season together and had a shot vs. Chelsea. Never thought it would be a shut out, though. Great game for Torres. Nice to see him shut up some naysayers. And some great saves from Pepe.

Not real news but found this interesting. Evgeni Plushenko tweeted a birthday shout-out to Juve's Alessandro Del Piero. I wonder if they met at the Torino Olympics. I just love when my favorite sports celebrities come together in some way.:)

AC Milan just made it to the top of Serie A last night, but just lost super sub Pippo Inzaghi for the season to a knee surgery.:( His goal celebrations were the best. He reacted to each goal scored as if it was the first time or surprised by his luck!:)
