There was a stampede just before a game in Kenya and seven people were killed. Sad day for football fans everywhere, and my heart goes out to the victims and their families.

A Rooney-less Man U is leading Stoke 1-0 at half time.

Man U wins 2-1 ove Stoke City! Chicharito scored both goals! Who needs Rooney! :cheer2:

Arsenal beat Man City 3-0! An eye popping score line. I expected City to give Arsenal a run for their money but I guess that was no to be. Arsenal also missed a penalty so it could easily be 4-0. Fabiansky with a very good job today for The Gunners.

With nine games played Chelsea continues to lead the EPL with 22 points followed by Arsenal in 2nd, Man U in 3rd, and Man City in 4th. Sad to see Liverpool still in the relegation spot. That can change becaue there are a lot of games yet to play.

Poor Paul, he gave all so much entertainment and some frustration there at the end with Spain! I read that he will be cremated. RIP.

Blackburn Rovers is rumour to be soon owned by Indian giants VH Group. The firm wants to improve their presence in Europe and accross Asia. The deal could see the club's debt wiped out and manager Sam Allardyce receive funds to dabble in January's transfer market.

1. Blackburn still has no new owners and concern over Venky's possible ownership has surfaced. Meanwhile there are two other investors still trying to take over the club.
2. England has withdrawn it's complaint against Russia over remarks by that country bid committee head after he apologised.
3. And the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 WCs will go ahead as schduled on December 2nd despite bribery allegations.
4. Fan violence continue to escalate in Russia and 126 football fans were arrested after a brawl broke out between Spartak and Zenit fans after a controversial game that saw Zenit lose 1-0. Most of the 4,000 Zenit travelling fans ripped out seats and caused damage in Luzniki Stadium. Probably why Russia was so quick to apologise to the English this week...

THe race to host the 2018 WC is getting nastier and nastier. Spain/Portugal bid was under scrutiny because of allegations of vote trading, while Russia has been informed that The times newspaper, the same one doing all the "gotcha" type stings, will publish an article that Amos Adamu was offered bribes by Russia in exchange for his vote. Meanwhile Spain which is expected to be cleared of any wrong doing is firing back at the English bid accusing it of vote trading because David Dein correctly predicted that the US will pull out of the bidding for 2018 to concentrate on 2022. Anyway that is just to start! There are all sorts of name calling and accusations flying back and forth! :watch:

11-02-2010, 08:06 PM
