Nice showing for sure but I will have to wait and see what will happen next season and who will they get to finally replace Van der Sar.

Looks unlikely that Donovan is going anywhere this summer.

Mauro Camoranesi signed a 2-years-contact with Birmingham City.

Happy for Sami about the Real deal, hope to see him in tonight's friendly against the Galaxy, caught some glimpes of him in a Hollywood t.v. magazine show about Read Madrid football camp for kids the other day. I'm personally sad for me though - we are moving back to Stuttgart next summer, so no Khedira!:(

I'm glad something worked out for Camoranesi, hopefully he will be happy there. I feel so bad for him, he's a NT hero and Juventus forced him out when he didn't want to leave. I guess the Italian football papers or just football online news is so sensational in general.

The NYTimes argues that some of the world biggest footie stars need protection from themselves because so many of them wanted to and did play in the WC with serious injuries. Kaka last week had knee surgery.

Well, the USA Men's National team just laid a HUGE egg all over the Meadowlands tonight. Playing a roster that included 6 guys who started in the WC and featuring 2 others who got playing time against a Brazilian side who only had 4 from their WC squad. And the Brazilians had a number of kids making their international debut....and they totally schooled the USA.

This was a total embarrassment IMO. The USA midfield has dozens of giveaways and virtually everyone except Brad Guzan played like they didn't care.

Maybe because this is likely Bob Bradley's last game the players weren't motivated...

....and the Brazilian kids were, quite simply, that much better. The goals were abominations, as were the several shots that Brazil had bouncing off of the goalposts. No passion, no fight, no skill, no goals, no nothing. Basically, we played one of our worst games before 77,000+ fans. Inexcusable and unacceptable.

NJL (..discouraged by our WC performance & exit, but disgusted by what I saw last night......)

Good news for Bradley is that the Aston Villa job is open, as I can't see the US federation keeping him after this display.

On Saturday in the EPL Blackpool started first EPL season since 1970 off with a bang by beating Wigan 4-0. Chelsea hammered West Bromwich 6-0 which includes a hat trick from Drogba. Manchester City drew 0-0 with Spurs while Ashton Villa beat West Ham 3-0. And today sunday I just watched a contentious match between Leeds United and Nottingham Forest which ended 1-1. Arsenal will kick off their season in a few minutes with a match against Liverpool and their new manager Roy Hodgeson. Manchester United will kick off their season against Newcastle United on Monday. The Green and Gold protesters who were calling for a boycott seemed not to have gotten their wish because ticket sales so far has been very good. BUt the Glazers are over a billion dollars in debt according to an article I read some time ago, so hopefully that means soon they may agree to sell Man U to pay off those debts. But I fear they will not even consider selling the team until they squeeze every cent out of the team they can get and sink them much furthur into debt.
