Good for him - I agree that he had to do something to address the issues that occurred in SA. As it is they are only suspended for one match and that is a friendly - so nothing will be lost by this suspension. Hopefully the players picked for the friendly do their country proud and hopefully make it hard for some of the WC squad to get back into the team based on reputation alone - they need to be wanting to play for their country and be proud of it!!

The French Federation's move wasn't much of a surprise, but I doubt it will have much effect. Essentially they will have to gut the national team and hope they can regroup in four years.

Evidently West Ham wants Beckham back in the UK to play for the Hammers, but also to help them get the right to play in the new Olympic stadium.:

Beckham's still under contract with the Galaxy, but I am sure he could be had in the January window.

Beckham's move to the LA Galaxy has been a bust in so many ways. Perhaps a transfer back to the EPL is for the best. Meanwhile NYTimes has an article on Manchester City's massive spending spree this summer.

Just a few quick notes:

Manchester City is still after Mario Balotelli.
Raul Gonzales is leaving Real Madrid, but to where is as of yet not certain.
Keisuke Honda is not going anywhere this summer.
Several premier leagues across Europe are starting their seasons this week.
Third round qualifying for the CL begins this week as well.

Maradonna is no longer Argentina's coach. The AFA asked that he changed several of his backroom staff members but Maradonna resigned instead. Not sure what he will do now.

Sir Alex Ferguson says Man U do not need to spend lots of money in the transfer market because we have so many great young players coming up in the junior team. In other words the team is broke. LOL And Maradonna is firing on all cylinders against the AFA excutives who fired him. hehehe

Ferguson could still be right. A group of 2nd teamers dismembered the MLS All-Stars 5-1. It could have been worse than that, too. A very impressive display by MU.
