My dream job :swoon::

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8836152.stm

As a girl standing (yes I went to watch my Wolves when stadiums had standing only areas at either end) on the South Bank I always wanted to be the person who ran on the pitch when a player was injured to help massage/sponge down the injured area.

Well fast foward 'X' years and 3 years ago I was laid off from my Computer Analyst job in corporate America and went back to school to be a Massage Therapist and after spending a year working in the NYC area I am planning on returning to England within the next 6-12 months to live. I think I may just be sending my CV to the Molinuex when I get back ;)

The competiton for hosting the 2018 & 2022 WCs is heating up. Australia has pulled out of the race for the 2018 tournament and will instead concentrate on the 2022 tournament. Spain for it's part is hoping that winning the title this year will help it's bid. England however disspite some missteps is still considered the favourite to win the 2018 tournament but some betting sites name Russia as possible winners because of FIFA's recent history of wanting to give the tournment hosting rights to new host countries. While the US could possiblely be a frontrunner for the 2022 dispite the strong bid from Austrlia. Mainly because it is believe that either China or India will bid to host the 2026 tournment and FIFA would love to give it to one of those countries. The Japanese PM has also backed the country's 2022 WC bid. Osaka's Mayor says he will go ahead with plans to build a new 80,000 capacity stadium in his city regardless if Japan wins the 2022 tournament or not. If a non English speaking country gets the 2018 tournment it gives the US chances of hosting the 2022 tournment that much of a boost. I would love to attend a WC final. :)

Here are some more transfer gossip:

Newcastle is after Real Madrid's Raul. Roman Pavluchenko has been dying to return to Russia but instead it looks like he will be heading to either Sporting Lisbon or Marseille. Swedish stricker Zlatan Ibrahimovich says he is happy at Barca and is going nowhere. Aussie and Fulham GK Mark Schwarzer is not going anywhere either which means Arsenal is still looking for another keeper.

Arsenal is after Keisuke Honda of CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Kiev's Pape Diakhate.

Manchester United will play Kansas City Wizards on sunday in Arrowhead stadium Kansas and hopes are that the MLS one and only ever India signing Sunil Chhetri will be included in the lineup. If only to attract more of a global audience. Best of luck to him and hope he does get into the lineup and impresses. I am a HUGE proponent of spreading footie in India and China. :)

Manchester United beat Philadelphia 1-0, and will play Kansas City next. The transfer market will last until the end of August I believe and it is getting so confusing! First off, Martin Jol is not leaving Ajax after all! He has decided to stay put and Manchest City is interested in Landon Donovan. Maybe Bob Bradley transfer to Fulham is still possible...

Mario Balotelli and Maicon are not for sale says Inter-Milan.

I know the Italian teams need it's youth, but I think it's too bad that it didn't work out for Balotelli. Seems like he would have been better off in the Premier League if the racial stuff in Italy is true. I heard one story about him eating dinner at a cafe in Rome only to put up with a crowd throwing bananas at him!

Well it seems that Manchester City has not given up on luring Balotelli away from Inter. And I hope all the stuff about how he is treated is not true. He gave up a chance to play for Ghana because it loves Italy and his Italian family. It would be a terrible slap in the face if such things are true.

Well there is this with Totti...
http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/totti-almost-quit-after-italian-cup-dismissal--fbintl_ap-asroma-totti.html

Maybe it was just trash talk on the pitch and it got blown out of proportion. I guess Balotelli brings some problems on himself because of his youth, immaturity, discipline, etc. I don't know, I guess some stories get lost in translation, for instance I can't figure out what happened in the Materazzi incident. Did he beat Balotelli up because the way he reacted to the crowd? Or for some other reason? I guess Balotelli was having problems with Mourinho too, but I don't know what type.

Hope Balotelli is transfered to where the only thing he needs to worry about is his game. :) US forward Jozy Altidore is drawing interest in Ajax. Brazilian 18 year old wunderkind Neymar is getting flirting glances form Chelsea.

Buzz, you have a link for the Altidore story? That would be a nice place for Jozy to land IMO.

BTW, City would have to really cough up some major dollars to get Donovan out of MLS. He's the marquee name for the league and they really don't want to let him go anywhere....except for a temporary transfer like he did with Everton.

That seems a little exaggerated to me, I can't imagine how entire caffe would put up with similar treatment and no one would call the police. Then again I know that people in Rome are dead serious when it comes to football, Roma & Lazio. Totti is almost a semi-god for the fans of Roma and on the next game, after he was sent-off for that Balotelli incident, almost everyone in the stadium wore his t-shirt with the words "I am with the captain". So, yes, they will have his side no matter what. The colour of the skin of the other guy is just a detail.

That said, in Italy (and I believe in other European countries as well) the use of the "n" word isn't such a big deal. Yes, it's not very polite to use it but it isn't nearly that offensive as I understand it is in the US.

I think Balotelli's biggest problem is that he doesn't look like he likes his club, Inter-Milan. He's thrown his t-shirt on a few occasions, ignores the fans, etc. Not caring for your club is a huge crime in the eyes of Inter fans (any fans, actually) plus it's known that he was a big fan of AC Milan as a kid. I also think he didn't train too hard and that is something that pisses off Mourinho who likes seeing his players working on their max. Add the fact that he is young (he is just finishing high school this year) and prone to stupid things, as he did a couple of weeks ago when he sat in a car parked in the centre of Milan with a couple of friends, pretending to be firing a gun. Of course, someone called the police and when they arrive, expecting to find some gang, he explained the gun was just a toy and they let him go, hopefully warning him not to do it again. Nevertheless, he still is a great player and I believe any club in Italy would have it but people here really judge your attitude so it's not just about his football skills.
