According to a NYTimes blogger England may not after all be the front runner in Europe. This person seems to think the front runner in Europe is Russia not England which in turn strengthens the US bid. If the US gets the 2022 WC then I am going! I want to see a WC match at least once in my lifetime. LOL

India has apparently taken a serious interest in qualifying for the 2018 WC. The country is not taking it well that they are soooooo far behind other countries in the FIFA rankings. Football does have lots of support in India but there is virtually no youth league in the country and only one FIFA grade stadium in the whole country. The general public in that country blames nepotism and corruption in the All India Football Federation, or AIFF for short, and the sports ministry as a whole for the lack of a decent football team and as well as a lack of decent facilities. But the country dreams of someday hosting the World Cup and is no longer satisfied with being part of the BRIC group of rising economic powers. India wants sporting success as well. More specifically they want success in football. And according to the article below their U-19 team has been doing well enough that the AIFF wants to keep them together and hopefully develope the team into one which could successfully vie for a WC spot come 2018. I for one would love to see that happen and wish them all the success in the world.

Another rumour reported on Caughtoffside.com has Raul and Iker Casillas moving to Manchester United.

Raul wouldn´t be a great business, right now he is in the end of his career.

If Real Madrid manager tried to sell Casillas he would risk be emasculated by an angry fans mob. Even if lot of :bribe: :bribe: :bribe: was involved. And I doubt Casillas wants to leave Real Madrid right now, he earns lot of money and his position as first goalkeeper is undisputed.

Manchester United is deeeeeeeep in debt and I doubt they could outbid anyone for someone like Casillas. But I love all these juicy transfer rumours anyway. :D

Keep these upcoming young talents in mind everyone:

Alan Dzagoev - He plays for CSKA moscow and did very well in the CL.
Gai Assulin - Arsenal is rumoured to be interested in this former Barca man
Mario Balotelli - plays for Inter-Milan in their first team.
Sotiris Ninis - born in Albania but plays for Greece and for Panathinaikos.
Sunil Chhetri - not as young as the others at 25 but is the only Indian to ply his trade outside his country
Mevlüt Erdinç - plays for Paris-Saint Germain and a bright spot for France
David Santon - Balotelli's teammate at Inter-Milan
Facundo Bertoglio - scored twice in his international debut albeit against Haiti. LOL
Patric Cabral Lalau - young Brazilian defender who plays for Benfica

The EPL will start up again in August14th with Man U's first match coming againt Aston Villa. :) I want to see what new signing Man U will come up with this transfer season but Man U is deep in debt so I doubt they have as much to spent as in past years.

I wonder how Spain winning the WC is gonna effect it's bid to become a host. Could only help it's bid I would imagine.

This would be a great move for Bob, and a historic one, getting an American coach into the EPL. Getting Michael to go with him would be a good move too.

I think we may here about this happening soon as I believe Bob had his showdown with Gulati and the US Soccer crowd today. And there's little chance that Bob will be retained IMO, so the move to Fulham makes a lot of sense.

Landon Donovan: I Don't Have a Love Child

Landon Donovan didn't have that much of a ball playing football in the U.K.

The U.S. soccer stud, speaking with E! News on the ESPY Awards red carpet Wednesday, flatly denied fathering a child with a British woman while he was on loan to the English Premier League club Everton earlier this year.
