Nor I either. One of the most incredible turnarounds I've ever seen in the sport. I was like watching 2 different games.

NJL (...but, was the PK for MU's 1st goal justified?..... ...)

The answer to that is a big NO, but in the end it hardly mattered.

bit of a lack of sportsmanship displayed by both teams towards the end here.

:P Ya beat me to it, evil person....:angryfire

Iniesta scored in the 93rd minute with Barca down to 10 men. Incredible! And, Buzz, it was Leonel Messi that had the assist...;)

Before the match, and before the pregame show, there was a sports jabber show on ESPN. They showed plays of the week from all sports; an astounding save in a Stanley Cup game, etc. One of the spots highlighted Barca's 6-2 win over Real Madrid over the weekend. One of the people, a deluded American, no doubt since I missed his name when I was watching, bad mouthed the whole match & the sport of soccer. Boring, dull because of low scoring, etc. I'm sad I did miss his name because I'd love to EMail the moron to point out that this 1-1 draw was one of the most exciting sports event of this winter season. Scoring a goal in the 93rd minute to advance to a Championship game is about as good as it gets. It's right up their with a walk-off grand slam in extra innings, a sudden death Stanley Cup goal, or a buzzer beater in the NBA.

Congrats to Andres Iniesta & FC Barca. The Championship game against Man U in Rome in 3 weeks should be a gem. It should be shown live in the US on ESPN.

NJL (I can hardly wait.... ...)

And that was the only Barca's shot on goal in the whole 90 minute match where the team possessed the ball 70% of the time

I think the judging was rather questionable, Chelsea was robbed of a couple of penalty kicks. Overall I consider the result pretty unfair, considering how well Chelsea played today. They should have scored one goal more though to avoid that kind of surprise in the last minutes. :(

There were at least 4 possible non-calls that could have gone Chelsea's way, but didn't. There were even a few that went against Barca, the send-off was probably not even a foul. To me that evens things out. Plus, Drogba had a clean 1 on 1 break on the Barca keeper that was stopped. At the time both English announcers wondered if Chelsea would pay for that. Chelsea did.

Chelsea had several other chances for a 2nd goal and were unable to score. To my mind the missed chances and the inability to prevent a goal in added time by a shorthanded team puts the blame squarely on Chelsea. The ref may have been off on several calls, but he was probably off on both teams, & Chelsea was unable to score when it had chances or defend the only shot on goal when the semi-final tie was on the line. A hard, hard loss for them, no doubt, but, IMO, they deserved it. YMMV, of course...:)

Now, FC Barcelona has to play a probably healthy Manchester United. And Barca will have to do it with at least 3 of their 4 starting fullbacks out. Good luck to them...;)

NJL (FYI...I'm not a Barca fan....but I did want a final with the 2 best teams in Europe....I got it...:D ...)

ETA: I think that it is generally conceded that if Barca had not scored there would be little, if any, commentary about the officiating. Such is life...:D
