Just a couple of notes; a duo of Indian footballers are heading to MLS for tryouts. There is already one member of that country's team playing in the MLS and more could not hurt. The sport is suffering in India and not from lack of support since roughly 47% of Indians discribe themselves as football fans. But rather from poor management, a lack of exposure, and a team that is rrrrrreally bad. Secondly I hate those bright moving side boards. I could not keep my eyes off the bright moving orange background during the England vs Japan friendly. I found the thing extremely annoying. LOL

Another WC ending injury this time to John Mikel Obi of Nigeria. Sad that this WC is being plagued by so many injuries.

South Africa's awesome stadiums. Very creative I might add...
Cool Stadiums (http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/blog/dirty-tackle/post/Coolest-stadiums-of-the-2010-World-Cup?urn=sow,245818)
I had my doubts but South Africa has certainly put all my misgivings to rest and indeed has done a wonderful job with the stadiums. :)
Arjen Robben and Chilean striker Humberto Suazo fittness for the tournament are in doubt.

USA beat a decent Aussie side today 3-1. Frankly the USA should have scored at least 5 or even 6 goals, but some poor finishing by Robbie Findley killed them. USA looks surprisingly good offensively, but very shakey defensively.
One wonders how the USA is going to handle Aaron Lennon and Steven Gerrard after today's performance.
I believe the MLS has done a lot for the US game, and hopefully it will do a lot for Canada's game as well. One can only hope....

I just heard (kinda late, I suppose) that ESPN is going to be showing all the games. Since I dont' have cable, I want to find another channel to watch 'em - does anyone know if Univision, Telemundo or ABC will be showing any of the games? Or if I can watch 'em online somehow?
If the FIFA had been concerned with this, they would have never given the WC to South Africa and Brasil.
Mexico has cancelled it's bid to host the WC and has given it's support to the US bid. The earliest WC it can now bid to host is 2026.

Arjen Robben is also injured now. It happened in the last 5 minutes of the friendly against Hungary. He has a small tear in the hamstring. It's unclear when he can play again, he could be out a week, or 4 weeks or 6 weeks. He is coming to South Africa though at some point...I just hope he won't force anything...
ETA: oh, now I see someone has mentioned it already... :P I'd read better ;)
No sweat deedeelocks. :) I thought Robben was out for good. Glad to hear he is not and will be back at some point. The Dutch need shim, and Drogba will be back on Monday! Fractured arm and all!
