Egypt will win no question. They are the champions of African football even though they have no notable International stars and have never done ANYTHING in the World. That would be the sub-saharan teams of Ivory Coast , Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria.

Congratulations to Egypt on winning their 3rd (I believe) African Nations Cup. Well done. :cheer2:

Salvador Cabanas has emerged from his coma and says he plans on being on his country's WC team. Meanwhile a team of his club side Juan Carlos Silva was also shoot but is expected to recover.

There a faint whif of scandal surrounding England's captain John Terry. He has apparently tried to rent out a luxury box that he leases but is not supposed to rent it out without permission. Not sure I got that right but quite frankly I really do not see what the big deal is. And also he is supposed to be having an affair with the ex of a former team mate.

It is now confirmed that John Terry has been removed as England captain. Too bad because I like John Terry and he is really a great assest to English football.

He is still available to play for England - and that is - IMHO - the most important thing in the run up to the World Cup.

I think it is the fact that Terry is married and had an affair - which - in the run up to the World Cup which England are hopeful of making a good run at - is why the high profile position of captain of England was taken away from him as it is is going to be highly scrutinised. Trust me you haven't seen anything until you see the English Press when it comes to our national Football Team. Why do you think we haven't had an Englishman as manager/coach for years? No god fearing English man is prepared to lay their life open to the onslaught of the press! Terry is going to get enough press about his affair - so removing him as captain was really a logical decision IMHO.

ETA: OK we had an English man at the helm from 2006-2007 - but he was so short lived I actually forgot about him!!! Which is a pity as he was an excellent club manager/coach - just couldn't live up the the ridiculous high standards thrust upon him by the English FA, the press and the public. Better to have a rude Euro who just ignores the press thank goodness.

The interesting part about the Terry situation is that a very similar situation happened to the American World Cup team in 1998. John Harkes had an affair with Eric Wynalda's wife, and that got Harkes booted off the team (there were some other issues, but the affair was the last straw) three months before the Cup started. While this wasn't the reason for the USA's disasterous performance in 1998, it sure as heck didn't help.

Wynalda spoke about this last Monday on Fox Football Fone-In and you could tell even 12 years later he's still pissed about it.

UEFA has set the groupings for the 2012 Euros. This sport never stops, the WC has not even started yet but already the Euros is being discussed.

UEFA has revamped their website and I cannot make heads or tails of it. I liked the old one much better.

Gotta love Everton beating the Blues 2-1 yesterday. Evidently it's the first time in 10 years that the Chelsea has gone down to Everton.

And the Everton fans are begging to keep Landon Donovan till the end of the season! They are calling him "Dono" now as his play has very much endeared himself to the Merseyside fans. Good fo him!

GOOD FOR HIM!!!! Just keep beating Chelsea. :shuffle: hehehe

Go AC Milan!

AC Milan losing 2:3 to Man United :( Still some slim chances for AC Milan to continue...
I couldn't see the game because I was working but I was kinda surprised to see so many Japanese with AC Milan scarves/hats, etc. on the streets of Milan. I guess those summer tours actually repay themselves. :D

OH !@#$%! I forgot the CL!!!!! :slinkaway

ACM defense was way too porous, they gave up two Rooney goals on headers which they should have prevented. Kudos to Wayne for burying the opportunities.

But it was great seeing two excellent sides go at each other!:respec:

Well at least my boys won. Sorry for AC Milan fans. :) Unfortunately I will not be able to watch tomorrow's games either because I got to go back to work. LOL
