I'd have to agree about Group G being the G.o.D.

USA is in position to advance for once, how many times have we said that over the years?

But just ask Russia how easy Slovenia is, they play good defense, and it wont be easy to get by them.

Mexico will open the world cup against South Africa!!!!

I hope that our team is way beyond inspired and comited to show to the world what in potential they are capable of, after a nearly disastrous qualifying phase group round

I guess that our players will be very motivated to inaugure the world cup and playing against the host who are not very confident about their chances

draw is a bit generous, considering we have played great matches against Uruguay who is very inconsistent, the unknown will be how France presents, they tend to start slowly
on the tournament.

East first round draws for Italy (as always) and Spain who could clash on round of 16

South Africa is done for. They will be lucky to advance outside the group. They are not great at all and is usually our punching bag come Nations Cup.

Apparently, in the rehearsal, Charliez said Ireland when she drew France :D

One more example of the luck of the Irish, I guess.

I think Group A is more wide open than it seems. France, Mexico, and Uruguay are all big question marks right now and if inspired, I can see Benny McCarthy and the boys making it to the round of 16.

Glad team USA got a pretty good draw. If they lose to England (as expected) then the pressure will really be on when they play Slovenia. A loss there will eliminate them. If they beat Slovenia then they should be able to advance to the rd of 16.

Yes. That seems to be the way most folks see it. Any points they can get from England are a bonus. The key game is against Slovenia, who probably should beat Algeria in their 1st game. If that is the case then beating the USA puts Slovenia through. Anything less than a win and team USA does another 3 and out.

That is impossible and is unacceptable to most of us, but the possibility must be recognized. This group is not an automatic pass to the next round for the USA. Bob Bradley has some holes to fill & the players have to recognize that they have no guarantees & some work to do. With that they very well could advance. Then, who knows...;)

Nothing should be taken for granted. Look at the Champions League, Barca and Inter should have qualified a long time ago but are beening given a run for their money by teams they should have easily beaten. The US should be ready for anything and I hope they do make it to the final 16.

It is quite mathematically possible for both Barca and Inter to be eliminated as it stands Kyiv leads Barca 1-0 and Inter is still at a 0-0 draw with Rubin. Mourinho already said his team will win this match. All other games are still at 0-0 as well.
