Slovakia 1 v 0 USA
This is the final score. Goal scored in the 26th minute on a PK.
NJL...:(
The Tatars have struck again... 2-0 Russia with another Bilyaletdinov goal.
Burkina Faso leads Malawi 1-0, Togo leads Gabon 1-0
Nigeria has beaten Kenya 3-2, and Cameroon has won against Morocco 2-0
Ivory Coast now leads 3-0
Egypt and Algeria just kicked off! I would have paid to see this match! The pre-game trash talk was tremendous.
....And Egypt is up 1-0 nil already with an Amr Zaki goal.
Slovenia scores and it is now 2-1 with Russia still in the lead.
So it is 2-1 win for Russia, but Slovenia is a rather Spunky bunch and got a very important away goal.

Forgot to mention that the LA Galaxy - & Mr. Beckham - are in the MLS Championship game after beating Houston 2-0 last night. Chicago & Salt Lake will decide the other finalist tonight.
NJL
ETA: It's going to be LA v Real Salt Lake. Credit the RSL keeper, Nick Romando, for getting them the win. He made 3 saves on shoot-out PKs to give RSL a 5:4 advantage and their ticket to Seattle. Congrats to both LAG and RSL.

 Zomg, my Egyptian and Algerian friends were totally trash talking each other via Facebook all week long  As I'm of Sudanese descent, I of course, rooted for Algeria :P Too bad the Egyptians beat them :(

Uruguay 1 v 0 Costa Rica in WCQ at Saprissa Stadium in CR.
Saprissa Stadium is one of the great death traps in the sport & getting a win there gives Uruguay an advantage when these teams play again on Wednesday the 18th in Uruguay since CR does not play as well on the road.
NJL (..it looks like that 96th minute goal at RFK was a killer for the Ticos.....)

My friend in Sudan tells me that the gov't has deployed riot police in preparation for today's AlgYpt game - they're expecting 10, 000 supporters of each side to attend the game  They're also calling the match "The Battle of Omdurman" I wonder who's the Mahdi and his peasant supporters and who's Gordon and his mighty British army
Allez Algerie! :kickass:
Egypt and Algeria is just about to start. Unfortunately the match will not be carried live. :(
In that aforemented game the score is still 0-0 but there is a yellow card already.
