CONCACAF results:

TnT 0 v 1 USA (as predicted by many)
Mexico 1 v 0 Honduras
El Salvador 1 v 0 Costa Rica !!!!! biggest upset in the hex

Hex Standings as of 09/09/09

USA.......................16 points
Mexico....................15
Honduras.................13
Costa Rica...............12
El Salvador................8
Trinidad & Tobago.......5

TnT's loss means they are eliminated. El Sal's win means they still have life. ETA: If they lose to Mexico, and I'm quite sure they will, they'll be eliminated since a win in their last game won't give them enough points to pass Costa Rica.

Remaining CONCACAF schedule (w/home team listed 1st):

Round 9 on 10/10/09

Costa Rica v TnT
CR should win this.

Mexico v El Salvador
El Sal winning, or getting any points against a red hot Mexican team, in Azteca just ain't gonna happen

Honduras v USA
USA will be fortunate to get a draw if they continue their current form - and Honduras is very difficult to play at home, and, only 3 of 24 total games in the hex have been road wins, including the USA's win against TnT.

Round 10 on 10/14/09

USA v Costa Rica
USA can win this...may need it to avoid a 4th place finish

TnT v Mexico
Mexico gets road win to come in 1st in hex

El Sal v Honduras
Toss up after El Sal's win over CR, but Honduras should have enough to take the 3 points on the road

Methinks that Mexico will finish first, with the USA & Honduras finishing 2nd & 3rd in any order, and Costa Rica coming in 4th.

NJL (We'll see if I'm right or not next month...:)...

I stayed up for the better part of the night hoping to see that USA vs TnT match but they did not show it! GRRRR! THey show the Russia vs Wales, and SPain vs Estonia. The strange thing about that first match is the stadium was empty! I never saw such an empty stadium before. Throughout the whole match, whenever the camera was on the players, not a single fan could be seen in the background! Isn't footie a big deal in Cardiff?! :(

You didn't miss much Buzz. Another lackluster performance for the USMNT. Only a wicked strike from Rico Clark saved the day, Irony is that the goal was the only positive thing he did the whole match....so at least he made it a good one!;)

Beenhakker sacked in Poland

doesn't look good for the World Cup for them, especially being the 2012 co-hosts of Euros.

Emmanuel Adebayor is facing some serious trouble for stamping on the face of Robin Van Persie during Manchester City's game against Arsenal over the weekend. VERY BAD sportsmanship on his part!

They are showing the Liverpool vs Debreceni game today, and I am soooo excited! :cheer2:

P.S.
The local papers made a small error today by saying the Wolfsburg vs CSKA game ended 3-0, it actually ended 3-1. Small difference but thought a newspaper's sports reporter should have double checked the scores.
