Rosaleen and I went to the so-called Stargazer session (skater warm-ups and a Q and A with Elvis and Satoko) at the Vancouver show. It was fun, and worth the extra $25, so glad they did it this year. Patrick did not do as much real skating as we would have liked - it included a few double...
I think, after what the US and Japanese athletes have been through, there should be a ceremony in Paris - IDK where/when within the games would be appropriate - for the gold and silver to be formally awarded and acknowledged - and then (at least if Canada is eventually awarded bronze), there...
I really enjoyed watching the world relays. Seems like a fun event to attend for people who like relays - a whole event of high stakes, high quality relay racing.
it does - we'll still be there, but I have to go over a day earlier, change hotel reservations, and also communicate with the unit that the event date has moved (which has become difficult in general, and worse on weekends). I'm still working on logistics.
Is anyone else going to the pre-show...

Me too. I've been rooting for them since Savitskiy's Nebelhorn commentary a couple of years ago - so impressive for a teenager to call a whole event in a second language (and I like their skating too).
I named myself after the lake where I spent my childhood summers, both because I love the lake and I've always liked the way the name flows. Nothing to do with skating - I used it in several places in early internet days.
